MSNBC invokes "Arabic sounding name" for one of the Ft. Hood shooter suspects

The reporter said "Arabic sounding name" with LOTS of drama in her voice. Fear! Fear! She did it TWICE, in case you weren't scared enough the first time.

On Edit: Regardless of the veracity of this report, it was the TONE and ALARM with which she reported that tidbit, which caught my attention. After all, ALL Muslims and/or Arabs are terrorists, right? Dick Cheney told me so.

We don't know what happened yet. But a lot of posters on the LBN Hood thread are making a lot of noise about the shooters probably being fundies/tea-baggers/milita types/PTSD but the those who talk about foreign terrorists (There is the rumor that one of the shooters has a arabic-sounding name) they are told to stop the "baseless speculation."

I'm sure the coin is flipped over at FR.

We all have the bogeyman we would prefer to be responsible for this tragedy.

I grew up in the Cronkite era, when reporters did their job. A poster above even spurred me to fact-check what I heard, just in case I was in error.

As for the identity of the shooters, I assume NOTHING. Motives, identity, political bent, NOTHING.
