Boehner: Health Care 'Greatest Threat To Freedom I've Seen In Last 19 Years'
Rachel Slajda | November 5, 2009, 1:03PM

House Minority Leader John Boehner addressed the tea party crowd on Capitol Hill today, telling them that health care reform is "the greatest threat to freedom" he's seen as a congressman.

"This bill is the greatest threat to freedom that I've seen in the 19 years I've been in Washington," he said.

Which freedom?

"The freedom to buy health insurance on your own," and choose your own doctor, he said.

He also called town hall protests this August a "rebellion."

"The town hall rebellion wasn't about one political party or another. It was a simple statement by Americans that they love our country," he said.

1. Yeah, lying to start two unnecessary and illegal wars wasn't a threat to freedom.
Neither was outing a covert CIA agent.

Or spying on Americans, an obvious breach of their civil liberties.

Boehner, you are a fucking fool. Other than the 10 percent who would wipe your dirty butt for you, no one else believes what you're saying.

Hand out any campaign donation checks on the House floor before a vote lately, you corrupt piece of crap?

3. What happened in 1990 that was such a great threat to freedom?
Wasn't that around the time that papa Bush puked on the Japanese Prime Minister?

15. Thatcher was kicked out of office - though probably that's not what he means!
Or maybe he means 'since the collapse of the Soviet Empire'? Because health care for the poor is obviously just the same thing as Stalinism!

21. So he thinks the end of the Cold War is a bad thing?
Perhaps he's thinking that we've gone soft since we no longer have the commies to kick around.

27. My local community college is having classes in Republicanese.
I attended the first few, but when I saw the DVD explaining what a "youthful indiscretion" is, I became nauseated and had to leave.

14. First of all, no conceivable bill would *prevent* people from buying health insurance on their own
Even in evil socialist countries like the UK, people can and do buy health insurance.

What he is really saying is that any government guarantee of health care for those who cannot afford it is tyranny; that freedom should mean the freedom to trample on the poor and the weak; that loving one's country means supporting the iron fist against the helping hand (see my sig line).

I consider people like that to be monsters of pure evil. And I realize that monsters don't exist, and I don't believe in 'evil' in the religious sense. Nevertheless, the hard-right are monsters of pure evil!

In case you didn't know after having that shoved down our throats for 8 years--they are the REAL Americans--Dems are Stalinist commies. (er--and don't mention Medicare--funded by God, not taxpayers))

28. Are the boneheads like him and Michelle Bachman not aware of
Edited on Thu Nov-05-09 03:50 PM by Cleita
the fact to talk in terms of freedom and rebellion could be very close to treason. Inciting people to rebellion to fight for freedom implies overthrowing the government. Are they aware of this? And why aren't their colleagues in Congress explaining that to them? When "patriots" start showing up at town halls meetings with weapons strapped to them, it appears that they have gotten the message about what they are supposed to do.
