Other election results?
Everyone everywhere in the media, mass or otherwise, seem to be focused on the governors' races in Virginia and New Jersey. Weren't there other governorships up as well? What were the results in those races? Were the two House special elections that made the headlines (well, one really, but...), in New York and California, the only House seats up for grabs?

Could someone PLEASE direct me to a website with some of this info? All the usual suspects--Huffpo, Politico, etc.--seem totally oblivious.

Thanks.

1. Hmm...
http://elections.nytimes.com/2009/results/new-jersey.html

The link is to NJ, but it includes races throughout NY and elsewhere in the country.

There were only 2 gubernatorial elections, as odd-year elections are not very common. Mid-terms (i.e. 2002, 2006, 2010) are where we see the bulk of these elections, though there's also a generous number in Presidential years.

There were lots of interesting mayoral elections across the U.S., though some are not on this page.

2. Thanks for
the information. I knew that off-off year races are pretty rare, but for some reason I had the impression there were two more governorships up this time around, but that both contests were cakewalks for the incumbents. I thought I heard this or read this somewhere in the past week, but I must have misheard.

Thanks again, and best wishes.
