Keith has been hanging out with the enemy
:)

MediaOlbermann Hangs With Hannity: "We Get Along Perfectly At The Ballpark"

If there's one thing that could bring Keith Olbermann and Sean Hannity together (apart from the occasional CNN-bashing), it's baseball.

Both cable news stars showed up for Game 6 of the World Series Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

Olbermann wrote about the game on his MLBlog, where he said of Hannity, "And lastly, a reminder that baseball does erase boundaries. The guy I'm taking a photo of, who's taking a photo of me - we get along perfectly at the ballpark - less so during our day jobs."

Mediaite's Steve Krakauer notes that Hannity pre-taped his 9PM show, while Olbermann's "Countdown" aired live at 8PM with guest-host Lawrence O'Donnell.

1. Baseball has always made strange bedfellows
and you can extrapolate that to all the other pro sports.

They'll go back to reaming each other new orifices once the game's over.

2. I sat next to a RW teabagger in First Class last week. As long as we talked sports, we were OK.
Otherwise I was going to ask to have my seat moved.

3. I don't care how much I love basball
I would NOT EVER buddy up with the likes of hannity any where or any time.

Keith just lost some points with me and some of his credibility.

4. It's called maturity. We all have to get along with people who may not share our views.
There is always common ground, even if it is only baseball.

5. He has to keep some sense of neutrality
otherwise he is no different from Orally and Hannity who, apparently, "called" the NY-23 elections for Hoffman.

And he is better - so far - than Maher or Huffingont who attack the Democrats just to gain attention, to show that they are still "relevant."

13. Same here. I cannot even understand happily married couples
voting for opposing candidates..

But then, neither of us (I think) is a talk show host who has to keep the viewers coming and the advertisers happy..

15. True I give ya that
about the advertisers and audience thing. But gawd, hanging with those that blithely enable the bush and cheneys of this world? Nope, don't get it. Frankly I'd be embarrassed to be seen with such company.

:hi: back at ya

6. If Keith gets enough points with you, can he get a toaster?
Or some golf clubs? Do you have, like, a catalog?

How do your points compare with airline miles, and can I swap air miles for your points if I like your prizes?

Do you have blackout dates?

19. Who says they're "buddying up"?
Keith is a season ticket holder. So, apparently is Hannity. All it says is that they "get along", not that they're best pals. I read that as them not heaving cups of beer at each other, or spewing invectives back and forth. It sounds more like they're being polite to each other at the ball park. Nothing more.

Yes, I would be polite. Just because Hannity is an ass doesn't mean I have to act like one, too.

28. That's the difference between us then.
I wouldn't be anything to him. Polite or otherwise.

Being polite to someone you don't like is two-faced and IMO that's being dishonest.

30. No
Being polite to someone that you do not like is called being an adult. You do not have to give them flowers or a handjob - just take the high road and be mature. Politeness always wins in the end.

Now...on the Innerwebs...we can all be aggressive.

33. I don't have to be polite or otherwise in order to act the adult.
I don't feel the need to be polite to someone, especially when that someone is a POS, in order to feel that I am an adult. Some of us don't need such self-illusion in order to feel or know that we're grown-up.

9. Not a shocker at all - I have other (non-political) interests in my life
where I hang out with others that I KNOW are total wingnuts, but everything is totally cool as long as anything political is avoided!

25. Feeling pretty bummed these days so forgive me for thinking that perhaps it's ALL a game to them..
Just a game, like WWF or something. Fake outrage, fake body slams, fake blood. Games played by the privileged, the rich, the ones in power, the ones with "something". All of those who don't have struggle or suffer as hard or as much as the less privileged.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, it's just how I've been feeling over the past few months.

29. It's not to Keith. Rest assured, it's not to Keith.
He may be able to be civil and talk a neutral subject (such as the sport he loves above all other things in life) with even a sworn political enemy, but that doesn't mean politics doesn't matter to him. He doesn't see it as a game.

And if you don't believe that, watch his Special Comment on health care again. It's quite obvious: this is a guy who thinks of and cares about those who DON'T have plenty of money to pay their dad's medical bills.
