PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. -- Police are following leads hoping to catch a woman who severely beat an elderly man in a Hy-Vee parking lot early Tuesday morning.

Harold said that as he sat in the car waiting for his wife, a car pulled up behind him and a woman approached his door.

"First thing she did was hit me real hard on the nose and blood went everywhere," he said. "It dazed me to start out with."

He said the attack caught him totally off guard and he had no way to defend himself.

"I told her constantly, 'I have no money,' and that made her even more violent," Harold said. "She may have been on drugs or something. Her eyes were very cold."

I used to live in Lenexa/Overland Park. I used to go over there all the time. There are several stores over there that I would frequent. Too sad....
