3. Yes.
This is the second time I've seen this interview, and it's more ridiculous the more you watch it.

6. There are times when, as a resident of Maryland,
I feel as if I should apologize for that man.

9. What's your point?
James Baldwin said something about Jews that certainly applies here, if you ask me. "Any Jew who acts like a white man is a traitor to his race." Personally, I think Steele and people like him are not only traitors to democracy, they also betray their human incarnation, a very hard thing to get according to the Buddha.

10. Now that's racism
Black men and women can be Republicans, if they choose so. Can even belong to the KKK - if they will be accepted.

11. They can, but why? Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face?
I don't get gay Republicans, black Republicans, etc., because the GOP has never done anything to welcome them, make them feel equal, or anything else. Republican policies in fact relegate them to second or third class citizens. Well, actually...not even citizens since citizens have rights.

I think there's a major disconnect with minorities who identify themselves as Republicans, because it's just not to their benefit to be a Republican.

14. His nose, his face
You can also wonder why all the poor people in the south and the bible belt who live on government handouts vote for Republicans. Or why seniors were shouting at town hall meetings that they did not want a government to mess with their medicare. And I still remember a former Enron employee writing a letter to Newsweek only wanting the government to give her her investment back.

People have their own way of thinking of themselves. On CNN often they have Republican black commentators. I think that some of this has to do with "big fish in a small pond." Steele is a radio talk show host, right? What better way to get exposure?

We know that most people are either hypocrites or choose not to think things through. They don't want government intervention until... they do. Unless one lives in a cabin in Montana with no access to any government built infrastructure, every one benefits from some government programs. But hey, this is mine and it is good. Nothing for you.

12. To me, his point was that anyone who oppresses others is a traitor to the family of (hu)man(ity).
Jesus, the Buddha and others of like mind come to mind.

13. It took you this long to find that out.....
I knew it 20 years ago when his sister married Mike Tyson. At that time Steele was not a lawyer but he pretended to be. You see, Steele's sister signed a pre-nup agreement when she married Tyson, that was back when he still had money. Well as the story goes when they divorced, Steele came to Tyson and threatened him, saying he was a lawyer and that they were going to tear up the pre-nup and he had to give her more money. Tyson, for once in his life stood his ground, Steele backed down and that was that. So after more time in college and about six or more tries he finally passed the bar exam...so you see he had larceny in his heart way back then. And folks that's why Ehrich choose him to be his Lt. Gov. he wanted another crook and why the republicans picked him as chairman of the RNC..like gravitates to like.
