1. Imagine where we'd be if McCain/Palin had been elected!
:scared:

6. I wish more of us would think of that.
I don't expect Obama to be perfect or to always agree with his decisions. But he's freaking light years ahead of where Failin/Palin would have taken us.

I'm seeing slow, steady progress, in the right direction for a change.

15. True... and I'm still holding the hope....
That this first year, being all about earnest attempts at bipartisanship, will end with Obama taking off the gloves and saying, I tried to be nice. Now it's time to take off the gloves, roll up the sleeves, and make things happen... with you or without you!

20. Totally correct....
Just imagine the lightning speed, energy, and intellect that McLame would have used to respond to all the issues over the last year....

19. Compared to the last resident, I don't think there is a question.
And, while I may not always agree, understand or see the long picture, I have no doubt that he has the best intentions. I voted for the promise of better intentions, not perfection. On The Daily Show Tuesday night, David Plouffe described Obama as a chess player in a city of checkers players.

26. That's too bad. After eight years of the previous resident, there is such a mess to clean up, I am
very optimistic. I don't have to agree with everything, and I can question the actions, but there is clearly more thinking going on than we've seen in a long time. And, quite frankly, he never said he could do it all and he certainly said he couldn't do it alone. He counts on the rest of us to support him and demand certain things. When we don't, then we can hardly complain.

I guess what I'm over is the pessimissim that the previous eight years brought.

29. Rose-colored glasses insinuates that I am somehow naive.
Not at all accurate, but if that's how you choose to interpret me, whatever makes you happy...

Anybody got the picture where all four of them are raising their hands in victory?

Oh, what a night, late December back in '63
What a very special time for me
As I remember what a night!

Oh what a night,
You know I didn't even know her name
But I was never gonna be the same
What a lady, what a night!

Oh, I got a funny feeling when she walked in the room
And I, as I recall it ended much too soon

Oh what a night,
Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me
She was everything I dreamed she'd be
Sweet surrender, what a night!

(Yes lol, I know what that song is REALLY about, but it's awesome.)

23. I expected him not to reinforce them
Obama's talked favorably about indefinite detention.

Obama's said that 'just following orders' is a complete defense.

Obama's said that he doesn't want the past war criminals prosecuted.

Obama's trying to escalate a war we never should have been in.

It's time to stop the motherfucking bullshit about 'not enough time!'

He's moving in the wrong direction. More time will only make it worse.
