There is no way to tell from toxicology if pot caused a traffic accident, because pot tests can only prove you were stoned recently, it cannot prove that you were stoned at the time of an accident.

If you start with the premise that pot has 500 toxic chemicals and end up with pot causes death via traffic accidents you got lost somewhere along the way. See, alcohol overdose sometimes causes death outright. Alcohol's effect from over-consumption over time can also cause death through cirrhosis, heart disease, etc. A person can also get drunk and drive, get in an accident, and die. You can't leap from chemical toxicity induced death to driving accidents brought on by anything. Its no different than saying cell phones are dangerous simply BECAUSE you can crash your car while texting.

Look at the evidence. No one will say that pot is as good for you as eating right and taking a stroll after dinner. That said, there are no studies that can prove that anyone ever OD dies from pot. Further, all of the studies that talk about pot as harmful say that pot "may" cause certain problems or contribute to pre-existing problems. Eating overcooked hamburger "may" give you cancer. Taking an aspirin "may" give you a heart attack.

i'm a chronic pain patient with an autoimmune condition(ankylosing spondylitis) that causes me to have great deal of inflammation(my sed rate has been as high as 97, but usually hovers in the lower 50's to mid 60's), and lung dysfunction(my ribs have fused to my spine in such a way that they do not flex, and therefore my chest cavity can't expand enough to allow my lungs to fully inflate).pot definitely helps me get through the day in a fairly normal fashion. my other main option would be to take large amounts of nsaids for very long periods of time(like the rest of my life), and there's no way i'm going back down that path- when i was in my 20's, a dr. had me taking 3 800mg tablets/day, and after a couple months i was having a lot of nasty side effects.
i don't live in a medical mj state, but my dr. knows about my use, and supports it entirely.
