Or to put it another way: One side is pretending that a wildly reactionary plan to further enrich rapacious corporations is really hardcore, gutbucket socialism from the Bolshevik trenches, while the other side is pretending that its "reform" is not really a wildly reactionary plan to further enrich rapacious corporations but something that will somehow, in some way, be good for some people at some point way down the line.

One often finds that dealing in such utter unreality makes it somewhat difficult to achieve workable solutions to real-life problems.

5. During the Finance committee mark up Grassley quoted one of the

estimates from Lewin on the Hacker public option plan.

When I pointed this out, and then Ensign used the estimate, someone posted they were surprised the Dems did not challenge him on the Lewin group (and by extension their analysis).

My reply...

If the Dems call them on the original estimates from Lewin then people might question what changed from the original public/private plan proposed by Jacob Hacker.

Also the Dems want their base to believe this is a stealth move to SP and do not want to jeopardize the support a PO has received.
