2. Why they accomplished about 75% of their mission
I have fundie relatives who have said yes they wanted to win the seat but the main goal was to and I quote, "Hunt the RINOS down." They did this.

the race, but Scozzafava endorsed the Democrat for Tuesday's vote, and the Democrat won.

A big gamble was waged on Hoffman's victory, which would have illuminated Palin's early endorsement of same.

It didn't happen.
