Don't tell me it isn't personal
I will not vote again for a candidate who does not share the majority of my beliefs. I do not care what letter is behind his name.
Of course I realize that nobody is perfect and I am willing to concede to a degree.
But I will NOT sell out my guiding deep moral convictions so that someone else gets a win in the "win column" then tells me I am an ungrateful bitch for "wanting my pony". If there is a difference between the "D" and the "R" anymore, someone is going to have to fucking prove it to me.
Sorry. That's the way it is.
My vote is no longer one that can be taken for granted. These bastards are going to have to EARN it!

1. That is a reasonable and understandable stance
no one should question it.

4. IMO the difference between the Ds and the Rs ......
is that the Rs think that some people do not deserve equal protection under the law and are good at getting the rest of the population to go along with them.

While the Ds believe that everyone deserves equal protection under the law and suck at getting the portion of the population that is not being discriminated against to care.

There is a difference in policy but the victories are to few and to far between.

13. Except that many Democrats do not support equal protection
Tim Kaine. Obama. The list goes on and on and on. God is in the mix, they say. They have a religion that tells them God loves them better than others, and wants them to discriminate and oppress minorities they, I mean He, does not like. The reason they can not motivate the voters is that they do not wish to, they agree with the bigots.
And I will not be voting for bigoted people anymore, no matter how they spin their prejudiced hearts as being God's hate not their own.

14. the Ds only fight about the word "Marriage", and I agree with you that the Civil Union Ds are wrong
but the Rs would never consider allowing any of the benefits of a marriage to a same sex couple.

7. there certainly has been a trend in the past few years that promotes party loyalty
at the expense of loyalty to a candidate with whom you identify.

I no longer contribute to a party - I contribute to a candidate.

If you check out the groundrules for this forum - it is here for progressives and Dems in general - not here in support of the party. THAT is right-on-target.

8. Earning votes should always be the test.
However, many Democrats are default Democrats meaning they will not vote Republican, not that they are represented by the Democrat. It seems to be our constant dilemma.

That's why we are in this mess.

12. it really depends the state your from.

iam in florida, voting for some of my views alone can hurt my overall core ideology. Florida is a facist state and elects facists and extremist to higher office. We have to find a way to sometimes stop it and go for the middle of the road. So, your point might be of a luxury for me that I don't have considering where I live

It just depends.

15. The perfect is the enemy of the good
That's a dictatorship stance, IMO. In a democracy, you live with the will of the governed.

17. Everyone Should Be Doing This.
Your vote is your voice. It's the most effect you can do to steer your government. If you vote against your own self-interest, you are literally wasting your vote.

You should ALWAYS vote with your heart. Anything else is cheating yourself...and others who feel as you do.

No more compromise. No more holding the nose. No more lesser of two evils.

DEMAND change. DEMAND IT.

18. I hope that tactic works well for you.
I expect you'll be living in a red area soon, if that idea catches on. I hope it works out.

If you're already in a red area then I guess it really makes no difference anyway. It'll just stay red.
