First of all, I did a lot of work for Owens, including a last-minute GOTV flyer created Saturday after Dede dropped out. I didn't expect we'd take that one, but we WON, dammit! That's hugh. Series.

We did very little work for Corzine, just a few 527 ads; perhaps we should have done his whole campaign!

But we hammered VA for Deeds. Nothing stuck. People just didn't like the guy. But what's the big deal, anyway? A REPUBLICAN won in a REPUBLICAN state? According to the MSM this is the biggest news of the day, while the impact of Bill Owens' win in NY-23 is meaningless.

As Larry O'D pointed out on Joe's Morning Clusterfuck (brewed by Starbucks), the Dems got two votes closer to health care reform last night. The two Governors races mean nothing -- NOTHING -- to the average American who can't afford to see a doctor, who is losing a home because of a six-figure hospital bill. But Democrats came two votes closer to helping real Americans, INCLUDING the people of New Jersey and Virginia.

I hate the fucking corporate-owned, insurance-industry financed, right-wing fucking media.

1. The media loved this right up until the time Owens won.
The media was on a pounce on Obama the failure wave that upstate N.Y. didn't adhere to.

3. The whole Obama-Fail thing is GOP spin. It was Reid-Fail and Baucus-Fail that's the root of the low
Democratic turnout. Until the Democratic Party cuts out its deadwood and Blue Dog obstructionists from leadership and Committee posts there will be no real reform legislation. That effectively ends the Democrats stay as the majority party in America - the Democratic base will not turn out for GOP-lite, and without the base, we don't win elections.

How was your weekend in DC? Did you get a chance to go by any of the waterholes, brunch spots, and dens of inequity I recommended? Did you go to the J-Street conference?

5. And had it gone the other way, Morning Ho and all the rest would be prattling on and on . . .
About how it wasn't really about Obama, but that these were really local issues and local candidates.

Savor the NY-23 moment!! From this moment on, look for month after month after month of increasingly fratricidal and irrational (if that's possible) political behavior from the Raptard Freepy-Weepy Teabaggers.

The only thing more hilarious will be the forelock-tugging by the Boehnhead, Gingrich et. al.

9. Thanks for your hard work on the campaign
It is huge! I congratulate you and Owens on the win. :applause:

Here is what I think is funny about this - NY-23 was the fight for the soul of the Republican party. So who won? Seems to me that since they lost the race, that it reinforces our belief that the republican party is soulless. Right?

I agree with you that this race was even more important to us than the Governor's races.
