Corzine didn't lose because he was a Dem, he lost because he was the CEO of Goldman Sachs.

1. IMO, he's also a jerk.
I'll never forget Corzine getting into that car accident (speeding and not wearing his seat belt) because he was rushing off to a meeting in order to save "IMUS's Career."

What a maroon! :(

Sure he is a dem, but then I shine on Goldman Sachs and I think -- well,,,

3. Corzine should have stayed in the US Senate.
He was a good senator.

4. It IS important to realize that not all Dems are good...nor are all Repubs bad.
The last mayoral race in my city is a great example.

Our Republican Mayor of 20+ years has done a great job. He's not without his occasional minor scandals, but the city is healthy and continues to feel fewer effects of the bad economy than surrounding communities.

In the last election, the Democratic Party backed a carpetbagger who lost a Mayoral race in another city to run against him. This guy ran the sleaziest, most dishonest campaign I've ever seen.

Thankfully, the Repub won.

It's not sane to ALWAYS vote for the Democrat.

7. I'll tell you why I think that's wrong
Every repubican who gets elected enables the craziest, most far out whack jobs to get their way.

Dems can elect the leftmost fringe candidates and they have virtually no influence.

12. maybe at a local level you might have a point, at a national
level? We should must vote for DEM. If not we would be electing someone with taliban believes, deficits will increase, schools will disappear and HCR will be out of discussion.

So, all politics are at local meme, is to certain extend.

6. He Was An Awful Candidate
The reason he rose so high was back in the 90s the Democrats were desperate to find candidates with a wad of cash to self fund (similar to what the GOOP is doing today)...Corzine saved the DNC and DSCC a lot of money. He came in at a low point of the party and bought his way to the top.

No tears being shed here that he lost...but it wasn't his doing alone...the Jersey Democratic party has had a lot of ethical problems that made it easy for Christie to exploit. Bottom line is Corzine's popularity rating was stuck in the 30s...that's almost always fatal for any candidate. He should be glad things were as close as they are. Maybe now the Democrats can clean house and come back strong next year. I also hope Corzine retires...doesn't decide to re-run for the Senate when Frank Lautenberg retires.

8. Not the reason either. He has been unpopular since his first day in office...
The Star Ledger newspaper, constantly ran front page articles criticizing him for his involvement with a union leader. BTW, the union would have supported and endorsed Corzine regardless, so I never got why the newspaper thought it was such a big deal. The paper rode him very hard since they endorsed his opponent, and his opponent lost. Now they can say, they told us so. :eyes: Even though they tried to play it safe and endorse the indie this time. :eyes:

Corzine has also made some very unpopular decisions in his efforts to deal with budget deficits. Finally, the old people didn't get as much as they usually get in the property tax rebates this year. I'm sure that didn't help.

Corzine was unpopular and destined for one term, long before any one had ever heard of Obama.

9. Democrats lost all over the ballot
Local elections and State wide elections. Our party has a serious problem right now, and putting our fingers in our ears and going la la la la la la la isn't going to solve it.

10. Yep, a lot of people are upset that Wall Street was bailed out...
and Main Street hardly got anything (with the exception of a token tax rebate). Voters are paying attention, and I hope the WH notices that we're paying attention, also.

14. I agree, but one of the stipulations was for these banks to continue...
lending (especially to small businesses), in order to help the economy, and that didn't happen. They sat on the money that we lent to them. Also, the CEO's of some of these banks are still raping us with their mega salaries.
