Fox News shows Bloomberg as a (R) on their scroller....
Edited on Tue Nov-03-09 11:43 PM by MellowDem
Good ol' Fox, trying, to pump up the victories as much as they can.

On edit: Bloomberg ran as a Republican and Independant, but Fox still chose to label him a (R) when others have gone with (I), unsurprisingly.

7. He is a Republican
Edited on Tue Nov-03-09 11:40 PM by Tempest
He switched from Democrat to Republican when he ran for mayor because he wouldn't have won the Democratic primary.

Bloomberg is the Republican and Independence Party's nominee for the 2009 NYC mayoral race.

12. He was the Republican Nominee. That's why he was listed as a Republican on the machine.

18. No, I believe he left the Republican party, loudly and publicly, during the
2008 campaign (to clear the way for him to run for President as an Independent).

He is NOT (now) a Republican. (He IS still an asshole, though.)

13. Well that explains it...
but Fox did choose to label him Republican when it came to a choice of the two.

15. New York allows cross-filing or fusion voting
Bloomberg is officially a registered small-i independent, but he ran on the ballot as the nominee of both the Independence Party and the Republican Party.

19. In A Crass Political Move
He switched to the R's for this election. I'm glad it was a nail biter, let that be a warning to him.
