To gays et al in Virginia: Come join us in Maryland. You are in danger there.

McDonnell was a youthful flower of 34 when he wrote that "government policy should favor married couples over 'cohabitators, homosexuals or fornicators.'"

Cuccinelli as Attorney General is even more scary, if possible: He told a newspaper recently that "homosexual acts are wrong. They're intrinsically wrong. And I think in a natural law based country it's appropriate to have policies that reflect that."

Neither is a "stray comment." These expressions of hate and discrimination will now be official policies of Virginia, as Cuccinelli confirmed recently and McDonnell affirmed at the "tender" age of 34.

Come over and join us in Maryland. We are a safely blue state, and we have safely blue crabs, too. Plus, your tax dollars - I mean, your charm and wit - are welcome here more than in Virginia, as well.

Seriously, there is an ill wind blowing now in the Old Dominion. It has not been hidden; it has been put right out there for all to see. Take care, neighbors.

14. I'm sure we can spare the funds to build them a raft to get there.
I'm torn between naming it "Titanic" and naming it "Edmund Fitzgerald."

8. You have every right to feel that way. Take care.
Take care of yourself. Hopefully the worst that will happen is that they will keep it legal, in terms of singling you out for limiting your rights. I think that's the best you can hope for.

I do not think Cuccinelli and McDonnell are kidding here, though. Virginia will be a very different place very soon.

12. Speaking of which, the anti-gay forces, sadly mostly from black churches and clergy, haven't
been able to stop gay marriage from being considered and passed by the D.C. Council. Looks like Congress will not step in and that will allow the council to pass the gay marriage legislation.

So, to my LGBT brothers and sisters, come on in to D.C. and MD. You'll be welcomed with open arms. Spend your taxpayer dollars in communities that won't discriminate against you!! :)

18. Does Virginia still have personal property tax?
Most of the folks I know in Northern Virginia are technically residents of Maryland or Delaware. Same for DC. I know it sounds Republican, but when you over tax people, they will find a way around it.
