The Virginia gubernational election shows that people like the genuine article
McDonnell, even though he is a far-right conservative whackjob, is genuinely a far-right conservative whackjob.

Deeds....hard to pin down his beliefs. "Moderate", distanced himself from Obama and the Democratic base...

People like someone who is genuine and unapologetic, no matter what their beliefs. Look at who the popular politicians are, on the left and right. They're not middle-of-the-road, have it both ways types.

1. When faced with a choice between republican and republican-lite
voters will always choose the republican. And I gotta say I don't blame them. I'd do the same if it was a Democrat.

7. McConnell is sexist and creepy. The AG is even worse. A sexist homophobe. Thanks for saying
you'd vote that way.

8. Did I say that? You're reading volumes into my post
I don't tell anybody who I'd vote for, so I don't understand why you infer that I'd vote for a POS like McConnell. And I don't know jack shit about this AG dude of whom you speak. I was merely stating an observation I've made over the past half century of voting and watching voting patterns. Sorry if I pissed in your corn flakes, or if you think I did, but Democrats don't win when they run as republican wannabes.

4. I just said much the same thing on my FB page.
When faced with the choice between a real-deal Republican and a dem-lite repub wannabe, of course the electorate will choose the Repub. At least he has the strength of his convictions. Deeds gave barely a passing nod to the issues, and none of his touted plans stood up to scrutiny (when he ever found time to tout them.)

Deeds won the primary in that classic miscalculation... they wanted the candidate that was "liberal, but not TOO liberal." As if there were anything to be apologetic about in being liberal!!!! And that's why the Obama magic failed to materialize... there was nothing apologetic about O's campaign, he believed in everything he said and he made believers of others. Instead, this time around we got an empty-suit politician who surprise surprise got his ass handed to him.

Yeah, I'm a little bitter.
