Comcast may own NBC soon (News Corp expressed interest)!!

The rumor is that Comcast is going to keep the cable channels, then sell the NBC network. News Corporation expressed interest in the property, but the Comcast talks progressed along far enough to eliminate other potential buyers. It could be argued that having MSNBC partially owned by the same owners of Fox News is a bit of a conflict of interest.

1. The lesser of two evils is no less evil here

Comcast has been very hostile to MSNBC in many of their markets (segregating it to the higher priced digital tiers, while leaving FAUX and CNN on the basic cable)

2. Actually, that may have been related to making it sweeter for them to deal to buy it

It reduces its ad revenues and suppresses its numbers. That lowers its value, which is always in the buyer's best interest.

That is all pure speculation.
