Maybe when you passed your neighbors house. For weeks at a time.

Would you MYOB or call the cops?

3. I imagine living next to Tom Delay, you'd get used to the smell...
as not unexpected... but anywhere else, I'd call the police.

Smells like dead guys...so what do they do? Knock on the door or break in to see if anyone is there (alive/injured or dead)?

5. I did call the cops
There was a parked car I passed on my way to work and the odor was unmistakable.

I never did find out whose body was in the trunk or who whacked him.

If you've ever smelled a rotting corpse, you always recognize it afterward.

6. Never mind weeks and weeks....
Just a couple of days of smelling that would make me call. Because you never know if it's a dead person or...because natural gas and propane smell similar to dead bodies...it might be a very dangerous gas leak.

8. Here is a local story
"CLEVELAND -- An eighth body has been removed from the site of an Imperial Avenue home Tuesday, according to a WKYC crew on the scene.

It was the second set of remains removed from the property on Tuesday."

<snip>

"Last week, six bodies were discovered inside the home where Anthony Sowell, 50, lived. The Cuyahoga County Coroner is using dental records to identify the victims. "

Unless this is what you're talking about? If not then it might be something to think about if you smell something rotting.

16. I am amazed at how many here know just what a dead human
body smells like! I've smelled dead rats and dead whales....the whales smell is bad enough to make you pass out. Even the seagulls stayed away. I would imagine a dead human would smell like spoiled meat, the longer it stayed out, the stronger the aroma......I would call the fire and police department to investigate any strong unpleasant smell.

19. Yep, I sure would
Reminds me of my youth, when an elderly lady killed her husband and wrapped him in a blue tarp and put him outside, and covered him with wood.

He was out front for almost 3weeks before the cops came a knocking. The blue tarp thing is somewhat of a legend back home(SE AK), because the same year that this old guy was found in a blue tarp, another body was found out north of town in a blue tarp as well, and people started dressing up for halloween and what not dressed in a blue tarp, tasteless, but humans are funny animals.

Turn them loose in various neighborhoods, and wherever he stops and points, that's where you look. Sounds like probable cause to me.
