Top reasons to be a mod, or to not be one (add your own)

Top reasons not to be one:

- When you move your own threads you have only yourself to send hate mail to.
- You really, really want to make a snide ass remark, but you have to think about whether you can or not.
- Locking your own threads and trying to find a cool way of doing it that does not make you look bad
- You think you got hate messages before in your inbox?
- People won't forget how you made them mad that one time you deleted their post. Welcome to many more ignore lists
- You can't take long vacations - unless you take your laptop with you.
- Having a wild sex party interrupted in the middle of the night by alerts on breastfeeding at Olive Garden threads

Top reasons to become one:
- You don't have to order (alert) a pizza for someone, you get to deliver it
- You get to help out a place you love
- Being able to have the last word in a thread
- You get a cool little icon
- Free health insurance. Ok, not really.
- Women will want to have your babies, men will envy you (and the reverse)
- You can brag about it in bars to friends and potential dates
- It is like being in the Masonic Lodge. You get a decoder ring too. When the history channel runs out of Nostradamus stuff they will pick up specials on the secret mod society of a website with the word 'Underground' in it - and you will get to be interviewed (with your voice and face distorted to protect your identity).
- You finally get to lock a thread by the Magistrate with the final words "Sorry Sir, locking this thread"

Add your own :)

1. The kegger parties in the Hot Tub are legendary.
But, like Fight Club, there are rules.

2. Oh, so that is why it takes awhile sometimes on an alert
 Can't you all keep a wireless laptop near the hot tub?

I have posts that seem to take hours to lock or move and it frustrates people
