Rep Virginia Foxx has gone completely bat crap insane this time
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/136/story/1033640.html

"I believe that the greatest fear that we all should have ... to our freedom comes from this room, this very room, and what may happen later this week in terms of a tax increase bill masquerading as a health care bill," she said. "I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country."

Oh for the love of ZEUS really? She's always been daft but I swear she's totally lost it.

1. Typical GOP Trait...run out the scare card...insert FEAR into the Realm
Don't they have Balance?

Think of the GOOD the Bill will accomplish...or are they only nitpicking the BAD?

If they are...they will lose.

2. I know her district in NC
and that kind of crap sells really well to people who go to fear based churches that feed them the very same sort of crap every Sunday and Wednesday.

People go to those horrible churches faithfully. They're the only social scene in a lot of towns that doesn't involve alcohol and fistfights.

Whether or not Foxx knows she's talking shite, she certainly knows her constituents.

They're the same sort of people who kept returning Jesse Helms to office.

6. Thanks, Warpy. I've really puzzled over the people who
actually voted her into office. I get the picture now.

7. the 5th district is literally in the middle of nowhere
Winston-Salem is the only decent sized town in the district.

Mt. Airy aka Mayberry is in the district.

I spend quite a bit of time in that area hiking, but not so much interacting with the locals.

disclaimer: I'm one of the NC hill people but I'm from an area tempered by being a college town.

3. Crack a joke about Mao being your favorite political philosopher
And your days as a Democratic advisor are numbered. Say something this completely out to lunch, not to mention offensive, and you're guaranteed a respectful hearing from the Fourth Estate. Why izzit?
