Oh. My. Pawlenty is Getting DECIMATED by Morning Joe on NY 23
Edited on Tue Nov-03-09 07:26 AM by berni_mccoy
This is simply delicious.

Chuck Todd is now having a turn tearing him apart.

Pawlenty is getting trapped between getting called a lock-stepper and supporting the principals of a failed party.

Mmmmmmm.

Update: lol, Huffington is now having a turn.

They are each taking a turn trapping him in the same box. This is great.

1. what's Joe saying?
Because two weeks ago, he was siding with Palin etc in backing the third party candidate over the Republican. Maybe he realized that wasn't so good for his rebranded "moderate" image, and now he's backtracking?

2. He's saying the party shouldn't have a "purity test". They shouldn't be turning on these people
in their party that may have some local issues that demand they counter to the party stance.

He's asking if Olympia Snowe should be thrown out of the party for the same reasons.

3. interesting
maybe it's to impress his friend Huffington. Because honestly, Joe talks a good talk about backing moderates in the Republican party and criticizes the fringe, but when push comes to shove, I don't think that he's that much different than the rest of them on the action side. I have yet to see him put his money where his mouth is.

4. There have been books written about the mentality of the mob. Maybe
some Republicons should have read those books before they whipped up the mob.

6. When asked what criteria deems a Repug acceptable to the Party
Pawlenty only listed what is not acceptable. Sure wish one of the panelists had called him on that. The 'Party of No' is really the 'Party of Don't--Can't--Won't--Everything Negative' Ptooie :puke:

8. Pawlenty talked about an acceptable "range of beliefs." Talk about litmus test!
He threw Olympia Snowe off the bus. This dude it tracking to the right faster than you can say Palin/Pawlenty in 2012!

All I can say is ... what an unprincipled, nakedly ambitious little brownshirt is Tim Pawlenty.

11. Gee we in Minnesota have known
that all along. And we are really truly mystified as to how he got elected the last time. He was so so far behind, until the counted the lagging votes from Minneapolis area. Hennepin county. The most crooked bastion of the republican party.

9. Pawlenty and many DUers have a similar philosophy - purity over an effective party

12. Remember when Pawlenty was being touted as a likely VP
pick for McCain? The guy was supposed to be, in the words of the Republicans, "the great white hope." I remember thinking he was a moderate. Well, for a Republican. I caught his MSNBC performance this morning. When he was not scuttling like a crab about the role of moderates in the Republican Party, he was sounding like a school principal on standards of behavior within his select private school. Very odd performance overall. He was about as impressive as the other former golden child, Bobby Jindahl.
NO wonder Palin is the hot ticket with bland Pawlenty boring the hell out of people.
