Limbaugh, Beck and Palin are NOT Abraham, Martin and John

I'm in the fourth period of my life. There's time left on the clock for sure. And in my life Ive seen a LOT of political crap. I was in grammar school when beloved John F. Kennedy was shot, in high school when they came for Martin and Bobby because they didn't want to give peace a chance. I put a peace sign painted on plywood out in front of a gas station I worked at during Woodstock (I couldn't go because I didn't want to lose my job, I should have gone). I put a huge sign in the window of my car stereo store in 1974 that said "We won't get fooled again" when Nixon resigned. I went door to door for Jimmy Carter in 1976 and 1980, and cried like a baby when Reagan won by such a small margin in 1980. I could not believe the Country fell for the bullshit he was peddling, but fell they did. The country proved itself to be so stupid it hurt, and basically for an entire generation. I was so disenchanted I didn't even vote in 1984, and went to work for the people who were buying up MY Country piece by piece at the time (the Japanese) as the Republicans dismantled our manufacturing base, started their war on the Union worker, and began the systematic off-shoring of OUR workforce, all for the almighty buck.

His cronies enriched themselves and their buddies in the defense industry for nearly three decades, and they put a CIA agent back in the White House, the PEOPLE'S House, in 1988, a guy who didn't know what the price of groceries were. I worked like I had Freddie Kruger chasing me to help get Bill Clinton elected in 1992, but even as we saw him clinch the election, the forces of evil were already tearing him down, and trying to put doubt in the minds of Americans. And when these fucks took over back in 1981 they brought their convoluted vision of 'rights' to the fore. I volunteered at a battered woman's shorter in the 80's, volunteering my time and money to help women get away from the monsters they and their children lived with. And I can tell you first hand and with authority, NONE of the women I met or helped were married to Democrats. They were ALL abused by thuggish pig Republicans who treated them like property, to be cast aside when their usefulness was up.


The forces of evil and darkness, in spite of nearly a decade of unprecedented peace and prosperity, succeeded in tearing this Country apart, taking the Congress over and again infecting every facet of politics with their deadly brand of hype, and put on such a successful dog and pony show for America, they stole the election in 2000 by placing one of the dumbest motherfuckers i have ever seen in politics in the Oval Office. but this time, they had all three branches, and they just pumped mud under the foundation that was once known as America while they robbed it blind. They nearly succeeded in making this Country I love into a tinpot dictatorship, and the tumors of that terrible terrible misAdministration still linger without medication, waiting to pop and spread their cancer yet again. They successfully inundated the Supreme Court with literally aliens, who don't come from the same world I know and love. And Abraham, Martin, and John have been made into criminals by these traitors, rewriting history and the Bible to suit their twisted vision of History.

And as we speak, the remnants of the past disastrous 14 years are reincarnating themselves as a side show barker, a puppeteer, and a cheap cocktail waitress everybody wants to take to the motel down the street buy wouldn't be caught dead in public with. These are the people who have taken over the Republican party. Not lifetime politicians who play America like a video game for personal gain, but three angry, racist clowns, playing to their ignorant, fearful, aging base with propaganda the likes of which we haven't seen since 1935.

A drug-addled, thrice-married seriously overweight radio clown that his MINIMAL cadre of sheep (12-20 million depending on who's counting) bow down to every day for three hours, has caught the attention of the new media and become their darling. He's used his microphone to silence the politicians who actually worked to get where they are, in spite of their crooked path, and has become THE MAN who pulls the ideological strings for an entire political party. And pull the strings he does. He has NO religion he follows, is wealthy thanks to the sheeple he has fawning over him, and sits alone every night with a cat, planning the destruction of MY Country, a country I have tried so hard to keep out of his hands most of my adult life. But this agent of darkness is steering the ship of fools to their (hopeful) destruction, this time for good. The true silent majority won't put up with his brand of bullshit for long. We can see through his lies and propaganda, the rest of the country is hopefully laughing at this circus.

Glen Beck, Glen beck, Glen Beck. What a shyster, period. This guy is simply riding the wave of Conservative ire and playing to a very dangerous hateful aging White minority, with the blessings of the propaganda machine that gave him voice. He'd STILL be a novelty act on CNN if it wasn't for Fox News. Fox news, the number one voice in tearing down the pillars that hold up our society, the propaganda arm of the 1%ers. The reason the political landscape became as fractured as it did during the Clinton presidency. But this is part of their game plan. Give voice to the clowns, the evil clowns and stir the pot of discontent among the aging White population against the 'Liberal' agenda and an African-American president. Haley Barbour said it this morning, beating the drum against the perceived Liberal agenda in Washington during an interview on MSNBC and blaming US for all of the ills that are plaguing this Country. By letting Beck, Hannity, O'Reily and so many other convoluted voices of the Right-Wing hammer out the day's talking points and lies, the truth becomes lost in the message. And Beck will gladly be the piper the rats follow. And we as Progressives/Liberals/Democrats think that taking the high road will give us victory. Bullshit. The Republicans and their crazy nephew the Ultra-Right Wing base of the party, have controlled this beautiful country for 26 of the last 29 years. Where did being nice, bipartisan and taking the high road get us???

Sarah Palin, simply a quitter, Animal killer and liar, someone who will gladly be manipulated for some new shiny things and schmatas. Sarah Palin, without the guts or intelligence to confront her enemies to their faces, now uses the electronic media of the age to send her messages to her 'fans'. Her fans, the worst of the worst of the Right wing. The dumbest, most ignorant, most easily persuaded faction of the Republican party, people who think Sarah Palin is smart. A true hero of the stupid, she is probably in more bathrooms than President Obama is on display in most Federal offices. A truly dangerous Pied Piper who can't even put a coherent sentence together, but knows when to push the hate button. A woman who probably has more 'sins' to confess to than Carter had liver pills. A woman who thinks runway modeling is a gallant profession. The Presidential hopeful in 2012 of a political party that has painted itself into a corner through corruption, waste, and manipulation. A one trick pony party that wants one more shot at the limelight.


These are the leaders of our opposition. It isn't John "call me Bayner" Boner. It isn't Eric 'photo op' Cantor. It isn't John 'wake me up for snacks' McCain. It's three media personalities made up by a noise machine with an empty bag of tricks, hoping they can fool the Country one more time.


God help us if they do.

If they have been in power 26 of the last 29 years, it isn't because of clowns leading the party. I mean, as bad as they were, Gingrich and Reagan and Bush 41 and the others had some credibility, some legitimacy, some capability. What's new is the absolute rejection of all things intellectual, all things sensible, all things rational. Facts and realities have gone out the window, so desperate are they to make the world's realities conform to their world view rather than the other way around.

We could study the reasons why at length, but the fact is that they are lost in the wilderness and not likely to regain their senses any time soon. The crazies will have their day and everyone else with an "R" next to their name will also be dragged down by them. The other 80% of us look and are puzzled. None of us are likely to join their ranks--not at this late stage! Not when their irrationality is as plain as it is now. Not unless we were sucked in before it became so apparent. They've already attracted all the faithful they are likely to attract.

From our vantage point it looks like a sinking ship about to go down. Don't know if someone or something will be able to save it at the last minute. Whatever emerges to take its place will be interesting, to be sure. Will it be a new party? Or just a re-newed party with some adjective attached, like The New Idea Republicans. But first they have to pry loose those teabagging crazies that have a death grip on the party. Where are the conservative intellectuals hiding, and why aren't they making themselves heard?

Following Rush, Beck and Palin is like letting the inmates run the asylum. If you have ever listened to Rush, you know what I mean. He just spins and spins and spins, saying whatever makes him feel clever and in-the-know, even if he has to make up 90% of it. And if you've ever listened to mentally disturbed person ramble away, or someone on a drug induced rant, you know there isn't much difference. What do you do when your base is nuts and will only listen to nuttiness? You almost have to feel sorry for the poor slobs who are, in fact, still sane Republicans. There is a serious split coming I think.

and not confronting them. Instead, we just 'take the high road' and they laugh at us like they did in 2004 when Kerry was swift-boated to the side of the road. If we focused on THEIR failings, made them defend themselves, we'd be in a much better position. Instead, ACORN is their target, President Obama is the racist, and "we" pick on Sarah Palin. Amazing.

That kind of sexism just isn't necessary to your critique. I'm female, heterosexual, and I don't want to take Sarah Palin to the motel down the street.

It's more than easy to condemn Sarah Palin without having to resort to the implication that she's a "fuck 'er and forget 'er female." You can start with the way she has exploited the traditional feminine role both to get where she is (ex-pageant contestant) and to popularize herself with her base (presenting herself as a devoted hockey mom), yet it's all a facade. You can talk about the way she seems to pride herself on being uninformed and staying that way. Or about the "do as I say, not as I do" message she sends to her fellow women.

To imply that Sarah Palin possesses but one positive attribute--physical attractiveness and fuckability--is to present a very male-centric progressive critique of her. Specifically, a very heterosexual male-centric critique.

Oh, and in case anyone's wondering, I don't want to take Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck to the motel down the street either. Why? Because I don't consider either of them fuckable, even if I wouldn't be caught dead with them in public.
