If you smoke pot will you live to be a thousand years old?
Is smoking pot the reason why the old prophets lived to be a thousand years old?

2. Smoking pot was the reason those writing about the prophets imagined them living that long. nt

7. Nah... that was lack of sex which turn people angry.

Just look at what men would do for dozens of virgins. Pot would give way to a great masterpiece, not books talking about old prophets.

10. Didn't seem to help Bob Marley's longevity any, unfortunately.
I'm totally in favor of legalization, and think weed is far less harmful than alcohol or any other recreational substance, but let's get real. If the most famous Rastafarian ganja lover in history died way too young, then that pretty much settles the question of the herb itself being responsible for long life

23. Please stop propagating this marijuana myth.
Bob Marley did NOT die young because of his marijuana use. It was cancer. It started in his toe and spread because it was left untreated.

24. I didn't say the pot killed him
I just said it didn't help him either. Actually, I'm inclined to believe what Bob himself did, that his cancer came right from a CIA needle. It's been known to happen. Just ask William Casey. Or Jack Ruby (provided your cellular phone plan covers calls to Hell, of course  )

13. Yes! And I Can PROVE it!
Scientists theorize that if you smoke just one joint per day for 365,000 days you will, indeed, live to be a thousand years old. And although the final results are not yet in, millions of volunteers are active participants in this long-term study.....

16. Naw, this is like the 5th epoch er'some such, people in the earlier ones...
had a more coherent life force so they lived a long time. Being diluted, we here in the 5th epoch are fuckered cause we're too dumb to go any farther. We took all the really cool ideas: wheels, democracy, capitalism, socialism, deism, rainforest's, post-it notes, other stuff too; screwed them off the map and they took off like mercury on a kitchen floor and ended up in the Middle Kingdom where they are teaching us that capitalism can be bought lock, stock, barrel, and the people to pull the triggers for a price which seems apropos cause all those flying bamboo Crouching Tiger people, well, they're remnants of one of the early epochs: the 2nd one maybe I forget :smoke:

Perhaps parents will encourage their kids to be potheads because it'll extend their own lives?

28. Does anybody here WANT to LIVE to 900 years old or older? Anybody WANT that?
I mean, living to 90 is a full life time. Anything beyond that becomes a contest to escape hideous boredom. Imagine being 10,000 years old. How much of that time would be spent being bored because you've seen something or done something at least several dozen times in one form or another over the previous several thousand years.

Sure, you'll probably see new faces every day, some attractive, some ugly, and personalities which can be categorized but not one being exactly the same as the other, and none of them will be the same, but aside from that, boredom becomes the overbearing constant. I mean, how many times can you visit the biggest cities of the world before you literally start knowing them all? That's a feat that can be accomplished in less than 100 years, but what about the rest of the time one has?
