1. It'd be a tough fit. He's too far right on economics and spending to feel comfortable as a Dem,
from what I can see. It'd probably take a strong primary challenge from a religious right type who was openly gaybashing him. Even then, it'd have to be a situation in which A)the gaybashing went past a certain level of viciousness(perhaps if Fred Phelps started showing up at Crist rallies saying "God Says Kill All Crist Supporters" and B)the liklihood that Crist would be beaten in such a campaign combined with the immediate offer of some plum role in Dem politics(and I'm not sure that would be possible if the campaign was close to a primary day).

2. Nope, and even if he did
I doubt the Dems would rally round. He's been showing his true colors this past year with environmental and development issues, or at least sucking up to fit in with the big guys in the Puke party. Drill baby, drill. Also, being in the closet doesn't sit well with Dems.

3. I don't think it would help him. much here..
Frankly, between him and Rubio I'd prefer Christ. I think we might have had a shot at beating Crist with Kendrick Meek. But running against Rubio with what will most certainly be the Sara Palin side of the GOP behind him, is bound to make this a more difficult race. I can see it now- wingnut "Elian Cubans" joining up with the Birthers to elect Rubio

The saving grace here is that second generation Cuban Americans are more Democratic then GOP. But it's going to depend on who gets more voters out.

4. I think Charlie Crist would screw a snake if you held it straight...
Sorry.. I know that is not very scientific. I'm just bitter because Crist raised taxes $2.2 Billion during a recession.

I can't even take my kids to the park fishing anymore without an expensive fishing license and the cops hassling me.

I don't have a lot of money. For recreation, I used to pack snacks and take the kids to the county park and fish off the seawall. They loved it. Got some fresh air and had a nice day out. I even volunteered to take neighbor kids fishing if their parents had to work. No more. Thanks to Charlie Crist, only the wealthy can fish.

5. Meh. I don't really blame Crist for that.
Price we pay for living in a no-state-income-tax state is that, when we're hit with a massive budget crunch (as we were in the last couple years) fees are going to go up huge across the board. you want to change that, then we should have a progressive state income tax. But good luck with getting that through the state House.

9. Charly was a Democrat many years ago when he decided the grass was
greener on the Republican side of the field. He is an opportunist only interested in advancing his political career. I don't believe he has any firm principles or beliefs beyond what will get him elected to his next office.
