Bachmann to Lead Teabaggers through the halls of Congress
Edited on Mon Nov-02-09 01:35 PM by DearAbby
Bachmann's New Effort To Rally Against Congress -- And Do It Inside The Buildings -- Endorsed By GOP Leadership

Eric Kleefeld | November 2, 2009, 12:54PM

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), who is best known for making inflammatory calls for revolution against President Obama, now has the full backing of the GOP leadership in her latest push to protest against the "tyranny" of the Obama administration.

As Greg Sargent reported, the spokesmen for both House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) supported Bachmann's call for a rally this Thursday in Washington against the Democrats' health care proposals, and her rallying cry: "If you believe in liberty, and if you're rejecting tyranny, this is it."

But what about the other part of Bachmann's initiative. She told Sean Hannity: "I'd love to have every one of your viewers to join me so we can go up and down through the halls, find members of Congress, look at the whites of their eyes and say, 'Don't take away my healthcare.'"

Does the GOP think having citizens streaming into the Congressional buildings amounts to harassment and disruption of Congress, or is it a legitimate exercise of the right to petition the government?

13. As nutty as she is
she will probably have the biggest one hid. When bush was tearing our country down, when he was giving money right and left to Halliburton etc, and starting wars and inciting whole countries to despise us, when we had an excuse to protest thru the halls of congress, did we. NO NO NO because democrats, contrary to all this, are more civilized, patriotic, yes patriotic then republicans. What person in their right mind would do stuff like this. A half a** republican. they are so upset because they lost the election they are trying to start conflict all over the nation. Do they think because they are acting so darn outrageous the democrats will walk in and hand them the reins again.

I think it is time these people were prosecuted. Lock them up. If bush can lock up a kid wearing a T shirt that says the kid doesn't like the president what could we do to these nuts.

8. That's not permitted
if it was, we would of done it during our Progressive Movement during the bush regime. Also, they are known to carry weapons! House Security will block this!

11. what isn't permitted?
Groups of people come to do grass roots lobbying every day in Congressional offices.

Now, if they are disruptive, that's another thing. But showing up en masse isn't in and of itself prohibited.

18. Not inside th Halls of Congress
no protest groups allowed. They know this and are only stirring up their group...next, they will claim Democrats barred them.
Remember when Cindy Sheehen was removed from the State of the Union a few years ago just for her T'shirt? She even had her coat covering it up.

The GOP is setting us up.

21. I am up on the Hill several times a week. Groups come through
all the time. They wear buttons. They wear t-shirts. They wear hats. They are quiet and respectful and they get appointments to see members and/or staff.

Sure, if Bachman plans to storm members offices with a rowdy group of protesters, she won't be able to. But bringing in a busload of teabaggers wearing stupid hats and wearing stupid buttons and visiting member offices with an appointment? No one will stop that.

So I guess we will have to see what they have planned

12. According to Faux...They are back to chanting DEATH PANELS
I had one troglodyte this morning tell me Obama will use ACORN oversee the Health care Reform, they will decide who does or does not receive treatment. Ask where he got this information, would not answer. But I had heard they are digging up the old Death panel crap over @ Faux

17. She just can't let Palin out nutify her
Palin's been getting press for ousting Sozzafava from the New York election. Bachmann's got to recapture her momentum as the GOP's biggest and most prominent nut.
