Gingrich is "deeply upset" about Scozzafava endorsing Dem
Gingrich 'Deeply Upset' That Scozzafava Endorsed Democrat After He'd Supported Her

Newt Gingrich, who had previously endorsed moderate Republican Dede Scozzafava in the NY-23 special election, now says he is "deeply upset" about her endorsement of Democrat Bill Owens after she withdrew from the race.

"How could she have accepted all that support?" said Gingrich, also adding: "I'm very, very let down because she told everybody she was a Republican, and she said she was a loyal Republican."

Gingrich had caught a lot of criticism on the right for supporting Scozzafava, and arguing that the Republican Party needs to have room for moderates. Now that Scozzafava has quit the race and endorsed the Democrat, due to campaign by the right to push her out in favor of Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, Gingrich will certainly have to work hard to undo the damage from his having bet on the wrong horse.

1. Well, that's just too bad. He should be upset about the cranks who
have taken over this race that think he - Gingrich - is a pinko!

4. Awe, that's just too damn bad. Poor little Newt lost his Party!
Why don't you start your OWN Party? Let the current nutballs have their Conservative Party and You can lead the Pubs!

5. If Noot is upset
then I'm a happy dog! Maybe his fucking head will explode.

Could this signal a schism between the coalition of greedy bastids & fundamentalists that has held the repug party together all these years? Noot was counting on the wingnut vote by default, but it looks like they're fed up with mainstream 'pugs.

I admit being surprised over Ms. Scozzafava's endorsement of the Democrat in the race upon dropping out. It seems very much an out-of-character act for a repug.

7. Did she say she endorsed him due to the the campaign to push her out?

Perhaps she is being a loyal republican, and her endorsement is her way of trying to prevent the far-right from pushing conservatives any further into nutbag extremist territory.

9. Hoffman isn't a Republican either
so what's the problem? Hoffman belongs to another party - the Conservative Party (or perhaps it should be more aptly named the Reactionary Party).

Neither the Conservative Party or the Democratic Party are part of the Repulbican Party and Scozzafava is endorcing the pwerson she believes will best represent the district. If the Republicans were so concerned about her support then they shouldn't have thrown her under the bus and had so many top Republicans come out against her.

10. Maybe if the rest of the Republican party didn't tell her to "F*** off" she'd be more supportive
Instead she'll probably be registered democrat by the end of the year.
