The "New" conservative Republican party platform.
Just thought it'd be pleasant to remind ourselves what the conservative Republican party truly stands for.

(Culled from the Texas Republican Party's 2004 website. The current website hides their true aims with generalized niceties.)

---------

The Republican Party affirms that the United States of America is a Christian Nation.

The IRS shall be abolished.

The following taxes eliminated:
income tax,
inheritance tax,
gift tax,
capital gains,
corporate income tax,
payroll tax
property tax.

The following government agencies shall be abolished:
the Bureau of Tobacco and Firearms,
the position of Surgeon General,
the Environmental Protection Agency, the Departments of Energy,
Housing and Urban Development,
Health and Human Services,
Education,
Commerce and Labor.
the National Endowment for the Arts,
the Public Broadcasting System.

Industry shall be deregulated.

Government shall be based on Biblical Law, relying on the Ten Commandments as its guiding source.
Posting of the Ten Commandments in public buildings has great symbolic value.

The United States of America was founded on the sacred principle of religious freedom for all but that liberty was never intended to exalt other religions to the level that Christianity holds in our country's heritage.

Our Founders expected that Christianity -- and no other religion -- would receive support from the government.
The "myth" of the separation of church and state should be dispelled.

Any candidate running as a Republican for any public office should be required to complete and return to the County Republican Party Platform questionnaire indicating whether the candidate agrees, disagrees or is undecided on each plank of the current platform.

Faith-Based opportunities should be increased. The Church should assume responsibility for welfare and education.
These programs will be funded through tithing -- collecting 10% of church members' income -- and through community, and business contributions.

We shall reaffirm belief in the fundamental constitutional right of an individual to use property without governmental interference.

Conservation easements on our natural resources administered by organizations unaccountable to tax payers and voters shall be eliminated.
Land trusts and conservation groups will be declared unconstitutional.
Endangered Species Act will be abolished.

Groundwater is an absolute, vested right of the landowner.

No international treaty that overrides United States sovereignty including the Kyoto agreement and Biodiversity Treaty shall be made.

Abolish all mechanisms to process, license, record, register or monitor the ownership of guns.

A constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, and opposes the legalization of "sodomy" ie homosexuality.

Right to Life includes suspending use of RU 486 and and bans the government funding of human embryo stem cell harvesting.

School vouchers shall be supported.

The U.S. Department of Education shall be abolished and none of it's functions shall be transferred to any other federal agency.

Public schools shall be eliminated.
Schools shall be run by Christian churches.

Abstinence only sex education shall be taught.

Government-sponsored programs that deal with early childhood development shall be repealed. (Programs like Headstart).

A common American identity shall be strengthened and an ideology of multiculturalism that emphasizes the differences between racial and ethnic groups shall be supported.

Bilingual education programs shall be eliminated.

Intelligent design shall be taught and evolution will be taught as merely a theory rather than scientific fact.

High Schools shall not offer reproductive health care services.

Social Security will be eliminated and replace by a system of "private pensions."

The future of our country depends upon a strong and vibrant public sector unencumbered by excessive government regulation.

Government services such as high-speed rail, sports stadiums, or space exploration shall be privatized.

The United States will rescind our membership, as well as financial and military contributions to, the United Nations.

Congress shall evict the United Nations from U.S. soil.

---

Also the new health care plan will consist of simply limiting rewards for malpractice suits and allowing insurance companies to sell across state lines.

---

So there ya go! A perfect country!

Sounds a lot like the Taliban version of government to me.

So will having another gawd besides SkyBeard be punished by stoning?

5. Amend the Constitution to replace "democratic republic" with "theocracy" and
elect a national pastor to over-see it.

That seems to be the only thing missing from the list
