VOTE TUESDAY!!!!!! Vote for Democrats - no more Republicans in office,
in ANY office, ever, period.

The worst Democrat is better than any Republican.

The "unimportant" local elections decide who controls school boards, judgeships, constable and sheriff's offices, coroners, city and county fiscal offices, some mayors and Governors (NJ Governor race is officially "too close to call".)

Your single vote is important. PLEASE use your right to vote Tuesday.

2. Very strange thing happening here
Our city wide elections are "nonpartisan" so no candidate has a declared party on the ballot. But there is a guy running for Alderman at Large who formerly worked as a staffer for Jim Nussle, a serious right wing former Congressman. And yet this guy is being endorsed by some well known Democratic activists. In my opinion, the fact that he worked for Nussle is enough reason to DQ him from holding any office anywhere. But with all the yard signs I've seen, and all the ltte's to the local paper endorsing him, I think he may have a very good shot at winning a seat.
There are four men running for two seats and one guy has absolutely no chance. So that leaves three. A guy who is a moderate Democrat, a young man who has zero experience, and Nussle's former staffer. The moderate Dem should win easily, and Nussle's former staff member looks like the odds on favorite to take the other seat. Not with my vote, however.

6. I agree
It will be interesting to see if some of the louder voices here endorse this or unrec it. I have serious doubts about whether the most vocal here even support the Democratic Party.

8. Our Mission
Should we decide to live in a free country, is to destroy the republican party at its roots.

The roots of politics are in your neighborhood and can be found out your side door. If nothing else your vote will be yet another chop at that poison ivy of the republican party.

Even better is to become involved in the local Dem party and join forces in our mission to eradicate this festering republicanism once and for all.

The only good republican is a former republican.

9. Voting on the basis of party alone is a whole lot easier than doing actual research and thinking
Especially in non-partisan local offices. And it paves the way for Democrats to screw the people with impugnity.

11. So do all the research you want - just get out and vote.
The turnout for this "minor" election will be a disgrace no matter what.

14. I remember talking to a judge here running in an election
he said that he picks his party based on where the political winds are blowing; his political affiliation means absolutely nothing to him. He ran both as a republican and a democrat.

15. Sadly, it appears that my beloved Old Dominion is about to install ...
a certifiable, Pat Robertson-approved, wing-nut, whack job in the Governor's mansion. And, as if that weren't bad enough, it looks like the bigoted, homophobic, against-abortion-in-ALL-cases-including-rape-and-incest, Ken Fucking Cuccinelli may be our next Attorney General. AAARRRGH!

20. And most of the ballot measures are bullshit.
read 'em carefully - and even then, when in doubt, vote against the side that advertises the most.
