NFL Star's Agent -- You Can't Use the F-Word?
Larry Johnson's agent claims he's appealing the KC Chiefs decision to suspend the running back for dropping a gay slur this week -- but the real story is that the agent claims he "didn't realize" the F-word was offensive in the first place.

TMZ spoke with Peter Schafer -- who is also Johnson's lawyer -- who explained:

"We know the N-word is unacceptable, that's not disputable -- but f*g? I'm learning that there's a segment of our society that finds it offensive and that it should not be used. I didn't realize that, but I do know now..."

FYI -- Johnson was suspended for conduct deemed "detrimental to the team."

1. I doubt Johnson would have been suspended just for the f*g comment
He also went on twitter to attack his coach, which is what I think did him in--even though his homophobia should have been enough.

2. well in some circles I can see his point sadly
heck even here, posters will never spell out the n word but type fag. Admittedly it isn't usually to insult but still. The fact is faggot isn't considered the slur that similarly nasty words about ethnic or religious groups are.

3. Amazing to be that ignorant. But, yes in some circles not surprising. In Scotland and Ireland they

say 'fuck' isn't swearing, it's punctuation. Hence how none of Scotland or Ireland was surprised to read of the World's Most Famous Church Volunteer, Susan Boyle, using it.

Secret Service were horrified to hear Bill and Hillary using it on occasion. Somehow GWB's using it never made headlines. Surprise, surprise.

When I hear folks using it a lot around older folks, I'll sometimes say, "hey folks, there are some older folks here that aren't as comfortable as you and I are with that word."

Use of the word used to be class-based. Upper classes didn't generally use it.

4. I think
they're talking about the f-a-g word not the f-u-c-k word.

6. ...and Larry Johnson
But since the incident didn't involve him pointing a gun at anyone's face, it could be viewed as a sign of personal growth.

Hopefully an ACL tear would teach him a little more humility.

7. He disrespected his coach on twitter, insulted fans for making $5/hr, and used that word twice.
He first wrote it on twitter, then used it to describe reporters the next day.

He has a long history of getting in trouble, and has a habit of assaulting women.

KC fans were sick of his phony apologies the last incident he had, and wished he would have been run off a long time ago. Fans would much rather see other backs play, while he at least rode the bench for the rest of the year. He has a multi-million dollar contract, and the team cannot unload him, especially with his history. Thanks Carl Peterson!
