New ads here in CT: Joe Lieberman as champion of health care reform. Seriously.
Edited on Sun Nov-01-09 07:05 PM by Atman
I almost fell outta bed when I saw this ad during the morning news. Yes, we Connecticut residents are urged to "call and thank Senator Lieberman" for all of the great work he has done in bringing real health care reform to America. The commercial also features Chris Dodd, facing declining favor and a tough reelection bid after his role in securing big bonuses for the scandalous insurance industry giant AIG, recipient of billions of bail-out dollars.

The kicker? The ads are sponsored by Phrma. Surprise! (Not).

But seriously -- Joe Leiberman, a champion of health care reform? Great strategy, though. Joe will get hundreds of calls "thanking him for his brave stance" and despite the source and the total snow-job involved in the misleading commercials, he'll be able to get some face time with tv cameras somewhere and point to the influx of calls "thanking" him as proof that he is doing the right thing in denying real health care reform.

3. They have no shame. We should help them acquire some.
How could we do that, I wonder?

Obviously they are paying him tribute for vowing to filibuster the bill and hoping he does come through with his promise.

5. It's difficult not to take the bait huh?
They're just poking us in the eye to see how we'll react. Doesn't matter - LIEberman's career is over and we're going to get healthcare reform as written - no compromises will be made to this sonofabitch.

7. That makes me so sick!!!
I moved from CT a few years ago but use my former address to write and call him. I want him to think he is losing support from me (not that I can vote for him anyway.) How dumb does Lieberman and Phrma think we are to believe that he is a champion of health care reform? These ads are most likely directed to the repukes who put him in office.

I'm sure others in this forum would like to call him something, why don't you post his number?

12. I know. They make us crazy
implying that Lieberman in any way supports Health Care reform. Or that he and Dodd agree on the issue.

It's nuts. He's so deep in their pockets, it's embarrassing.
