On the quiet [D/L], the US is legalising marijuana
You know things are shifting in America when Fortune magazine, the bible for business journalism, runs a cover story titled “Is pot already legal?”. You also know it when Barack Obama’s Department of Justice publishes a long-expected memo signalling that the federal government will no longer raid medical marijuana dispensaries if they are legal under state law. That happened formally this month.

In 1970, 84% of Americans supported keeping marijuana illegal. Today, that number has collapsed to 54%.

1. Hope they are getting some taxes if it is.
Could be a real boost. (would they be termed HIGHER taxes?)

11. Yeah. Tell me about it. If you all out there think pot is legal, go out
and smoke some in public sometime, or carry around a pipe with some residue in it. They're still busting anybody they can.

16. That it's categorized as Scedule I is simply insane.
Worse than cocaine, morphine, methamphetamine and Dilaudid? Yeah, fucking right.

6. Medical Marijuana is stupid
Coming from someone whose mother had cancer, used medical marijuana, and recently passed.

We should be fighting so adults can ingest a relatively harmless plant without government retribution. Sick, Healthy, and anywhere in between.

7. HA!....
In a country that can barely pass health care reform for it's own citizens, it is laughable to think that it can legalize marijuana.

9. If it becomes legal on the face of the land of America will it let us
see the superior million year old beings who brought us here through an experiment that looks like it has failed miserably so maybe they will take us back?

10. My 18 yr old nice was just busted for possession
Stupid girl said she and her friends had just finished up a "clam bake" and drove off and the cops pulled her over. All she got was a ticket. No jail, no community service. I would have thought the least she would have gotten was a DUI, but no, just 180.00 fine.

I told her that if she had lived with me should would have known that under no circumstances do you smoke in a car.

17. I have a hunch that the "just a ticket" rule applies most frequently to 18 year old girls.
Unless it was a local cop in, say, Madison, WI.
