Teabaggers think they're the new Republican Revolution
It's ridiculous.

Everyone knows that Republicans need to abandon grassroots ideology and re-adopt trickle-down support if they want to win big in 2010.

XD

1. Yet, they don't have a clue what they are revolting against!
Each one of them holds a different sign of complaint, usually misspelled. If questioned as to their "revolting," they haven't a clue. Seems they need a Dick Armey For Profit, pulling the strings from their ass.

2. And yet...
...living in a conservative area, I have a lot of conversations with "mainstream" Republicans. Most of them consider the Teabaggers & Birthers to be extremists at best, and more often than not simply write them off as outright kooks. I couldn't tell you how many "I used to listen to Hannity, but he's gone off the deep end..." conversations I've had with right wingers over the last year or two.

If the Teabaggers take over the Republican party, I predict that the party will simply disintegrate. The Republicans have the same moderate middle that the Democrats do, and their middle is just a bit further right than ours is. If the party is taken over by the Teabaggers, there is no way they can hold onto that middle.

3. Power to the Stupid!
We need national policy based on ignorance.

Actually we don't but those who compete against America would benefit from it.

4. The fake populism is being dictated by the top for now
but I fully expect the law of unintended consequences to take over soon.

These people are ripe for organizing because they realize they've been had and are angry about it. They're just too damn dumb to be able to figure out who took them for a ride and who they need to be angry at.

We're unlikely to approve of much of what such people produce but their leaders need to beware: their leadership isn't going to be accepted forever.

the same things they do. When in reality, most people think they are whack-jobs.

6. I was channel surfing yesterday and came across Beck --
could not avert my eyes. He unveiled a chalkboard with pictures of the founders, then flipped the board and said we were fighting the people on this side -- it included Obama, Jarrett, ACORN CEO, Van Jones, Dunn etc... I could not believe that this man was basically calling for rebellion on TV. Nuts. My husband turned to me and said, "No one gives a crap about him, don't let it get to you." Then I went to Five Guys and forgot about it.
