So then, we're given to believe that witches gather in undisclosed
venues -- likely in wooded areas near major cities, or in Michael Moore's garage -- to "pray over," that is, cast sinister spells onto, bags of candy before they are distributed to the nation's retail outlets.

It is more than a bit unsettling that there are U.S. American adults out there who hear this sort of thing and pass it on as unblemished fact at their workplaces, their barber and beauty shops, and so forth.

Some go so far as to write in to their local newspapers' op-ed pages to warn the populace of conjured evil and accursed Snickers bars.

Oddly, we are not given the degree of affect here. Is this a 50-state issue, or is it only in blue states? What if it's a blue city in an otherwise red state? Is Phil Donahue involved? And why haven't the concerned fundies indicated symptomatic guidelines for people who do in fact receive the accursed candy? Wouldn't it be prudent to alert parents who suspect that their kids' trick-or-treat candies have been prayed over by witches, and provide them with a help-line of some sort for next-step procedures and treatment?

1. I think they've probably got a special place on the production line.
Surely the manufacturers must all be in cahoots with witches. Where's your conspiracy holiday spirit?

4. Then I am a lost soul, to be sure. I ate more Milk Duds at the movies
when I was growing up than can be counted.

8. I'm sure that the candy manufacturers and warehouse security are letting large groups of people
walk onto their sites around, say, July when the candy was being made and packaged (in China, VietNam, India, Pakistan, Peru, Mexico or some other foreign country that these factories have moved to?) gather around the pallets and hold unholy rites, sacrificing bats, cats or chickens to their dark, anti-Christian master. I can see some poor mega-store stock person saying "what's this brown gunk on the plastic wrap" when he or she receives the pallets in late August, along with the flammable costumes and cheap trick or treat trinkets.
And what about the pallets from the previous year that were sent back to the warehouse? The stuff you get at the dollar stores. Are they also cursed?

It's not witches that are cursing us, it's a mixture of cheap labor, cheap manufacturing, cheap ingredients and fillers, and those who have been laid off from or lost the pensions of their union jobs at factories such as Mars, Hershey's, Brachs, Wrigleys, Nestle US, Cadbury US, and all the other places we used to get our holiday candy from.
Give me a good, old fashioned 60's Hershey bar with real cane sugar and cocoa. Or a bon-bon or nougat with real fruit, nut, or herb extract
for the flavoring. No curses there, except from a dentist if you eat too much without brushing your teeth afterwards.

9. Got a mouse in yer pocket? What do you mean WE are?

WE are not given to believe anything. A <1 percent batshit crazy lunatic fringe of the lunatic fringe, is given to believe, and then the infotainment driven media gives these should be marginalized nit-wits, a huge bullhorn to shout out their delusional crap, and threads like this that give a fly-shit-sized amount credibility to this spring up all over the tubes.

Ain't no no fucking "WE" about it...
