I don't know about you all, but I see DST as being such a pain in the ass?

Living far from the equator is going to cause very wide variances in daylight & we should just adjust accordingly without changing the clocks.

If you want the amount of daylight to stay fairly consistent throughout the year then move to Quito, Ecuador.

1. It makes no sense to have full daylight at 5am and dark by 4pm. nt

10. Yeah...really sucks for those who live on the far eastern portion of their time zone
Where I moved from earlier this, Louisville, it was on the far western edge of the time zone and DST wasn't so bad. Now I'm further south and east and I bet it will be dark by 4:30 come the winter solstice.

16. I hate it
It's entirely stupid as nothing can be done outdoors after work and I just don't like the gloomy drive home.

3. Leave your clocks alone. It really won't affect much.
Time is relative, and DST is just a diversion.

4. I agree.
I am happy for the "extra" hour today. But let's not jump ahead next spring. It sucks.

7. as long as the leave it on DST
I loathe EST it will be dark soooo early. I'd rather have that hour of daylight in the evening.

14. Mad dogs and Englishmen
Only a silly upper-class twit with an obsession for railroad schedules would come up with the idea:
"I've got it, old bean! Instead of letting the sun, which rarely shines on our soggy land govern our behavior, lets get people to be slaves to the clock. Then when we want to jerk them around, all we have to do is tell them to change their clock in the middle of the night on a weekend."

You'll notice that China pays no attention to DST or time zones in general. Beijing time is standard throughout the country and people in the west operate on later hours in order to keep pace with the sun.

19. By Jove, I think you've got it!
Why do we let them jerk us around twice a year. Leave it on standard time and be don with it. It has been proven not to save anything, but it does adds costs of living.

:)

I don't mind DST. My schools' kids would be waiting in the dark for their bus every morning.

18. Our school children don't have it that bad really.
Just think about the poor kids in places like Anchorage or Helsinki, Finland. They go to school AND come home in the dark.

20. Reminds me of a bumper sticker from my childhood

LEAVE GOD'S TIME ALONE

My sister and I still laugh about this. We were maybe 8 and 10 years old. Out in the car with our dad one day and saw this bumper sticker. My sister looked at it and said "Dad, did God create clocks too?"
