So Cheney committed perjury
Wasn't Bill Clinton, President of the United States, impeached for lying under oath. Wasn't that the chief reason argued by the RW goons and their hacks in M$Greedia.

Why the fugging silence about Cheney's perjury. Dick Cheney LIED to Patrick Fitzgerald.

I say lock up the Dick and throw away the key for perjury, war crimes, looting the treasury and several other crimes.

1. Unfortunately you can't charge someone with perjury when they say they
don't recall! You can't prove it! We may all know it, and so did Fitz, but if you can't prove the charge, you loose.

2. True ...
but there are still the war crimes and the fact that he was one of the main architects and promoters of U.S. torture polices.

Odd how that doesn't seem to count with the government. It should, I think, but apparently it doesn't. Dr. Evil rides again.

5. It doesn't matter if we KNOW! If an attorney can't prove it
in court, it's a fools errand and a waste of time & money.

There were a lot of people who believe they KNOW OJ was guilty, but it couldn't be proven!

You may not like it but that's our system of justice.

It's actually a good one too. I truely hope you never have to find out first hand.

16. It doesn't matter even if you CAN prove it.
The Obama White House and the DoJ policy is to PROTECT the Bush War Criminals.

NOTHING is going to happen.

15. Incorrect. A claim you can't recall an event that any reasonable person should remember is perjury
if you have sufficient evidence from other sources to convict.

In this case, we have the testimony of Scooter and a half dozen others, along with Dick's own public admission that he authorized the Plame takedown. Nothing stands between Dick and a trial other than having the will to convene a Grand Jury to indict him.

18. Dick claimed he did not remember his own notes - give me a break
Frankly, any one who claims that they "can't remember" to the extent that Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales and others of the past administration did should be declared incompetent and locked up in padded rooms for their own protection. Obviously, they have dementia or some brain wasting disease that renders them incapable of normal functioning. (I am only partially kidding here.)

On a serious note - was Dick actually under oath or was that just his answers to questions asked by the FBI? If the first, perjury sounds reasonable. If the second, charge him with obstructing a federal investigation.

19. Same penalty for Perjury and Obstruction. Distinction w/o a difference.
The Bush-Cheney Administration was an alien brain-eating disease.

9. Ask anyone, there are lots of more important things to do than deal with traitors
We need to let traitors and war criminals go about doing whatever they want to do and then expect corrupt banks and insurance companies to be "fixed".

11. IIRC, Darth was not under oath in his statement to the Fitz.
That rules out perjury....however, there is obstruction.
