Mengele intentionally killed and dissected his patients (sometimes both at the same time, without anesthetic), these documents detail how to torture people without causing any physical long-term harm.

Remind me to not take any history lessons from him, especially on anything related to Nazi germany, history of warfare, or extracting confessions, or criminal punishments... What next, is simulated drowning something invented by the germans, and witch-dunking never happened? The stocks of early American punishment weren't stress positions? His opinion is laughably mis-informed, or deliberately deceitful.

Oh, and there are consequences for crossing the line. There are soldiers, intelligence officers, and contractors sitting in prison right now for crossing those lines. You or I may not agree on where those lines should be drawn, but hyperbolic rhetoric demonstrating ignorance of the existence of the lines isn't advancing the discussion.

6. As I scanned through this, I kept wondering if the temps. and times

were based on what was "safe" for a selected type of person, for example, 190# male in top condition versus, say, 120# male in weakened condition. Even if the 190# male started out in top condition, how long would he stay in top condition under these circumstances? Were the times and temps., adjusted accordingly.

I'm reminded of dive tables S.C.U.B.A. divers used which includes depths and times based on tests done on Navy S.E.A.L.S. We were all advised to adjust downward based on our physical condition as many of us were not in that type of condition.

After having said all that, I keep thinking of our troops playing chess with German P.O.W.s rather than putting them in stress positions. We've come so far.
