Creigh Deeds- What's up with this?

This banner I've been seeing a lot here on DU is paid for by Common Sense Virginia PAC. Just Google it, and you'll find that it's an openly Republican organization:

It seems ironic to me that the Virginia Republicans are so against him- I mean, they all voted for him, right? Deeds was 3rd of 3 candidates in campaign funds going into the primary, and -along with Brina Moran- poling in the low 20's going into the primary. Then, lo and behold on the day of the primary, he wins by a landslide with 49% of the vote. (http://www.vpap.org/candidates/election_seat/1) My theory is that since the Republicans already had their candidate and weren't having a primary, they all went out and voted for the least electable Democrat (Deeds was the most Republican-like, and had the lamest environmental plan of the three) I'm afraid it may be time for Virginia to adopt a party registration system for voting in primaries. in the meantime,I'm seriously considering voting for Bob McDonnell- just so that in 5 years when the state is completely screwed up the right party will get the blame.

4. I wouldn't argue with you there-
I voted for Moran because he had the best environmental plan. Deeds was my last choice.

6. We really don't deserve McDonnell.
Not sure why you would say that. The OP is right about repubs in Virginia voting in the dems primaries to screw things up for us. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I know of repubs who voted for Clinton in 08 because they felt she was the more easier of the two to beat. I don't doubt that this happened again. So now, we will probably be stuck with McDonnell, and I guarantee that he will mess up the state again. It is the repubs in this state that never, ever learn. We need to change the system to where, if you vote in the primaries for a dem or repub, you are held to voting in that same parties general.

3. We Also Had Three Candidates
In my opinion, Deeds won because the other two candidates split the more liberal vote.

8. When election day comes I probably won't-

I just think that Deeds got the nomination because a lot of Republicans came out and voted for him in the primary, and while he may be the lesser of two evils, it's going to be a pretty sucky 5 years no matter who wins.

The turnout for the Virginia primary was pathetic- only 320,000- which means that there were more people at the 9/12 teabag rally than turned out to vote in this whole state. The turnout was projected to be low- I hoped that would give Moran (who I voted for) a better chance to win the nomination. Now we have a choice between Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Republican. Either way we lose.
