25. Mr. lefty's office did a themed dress for Halloween today!
They decided on the theme, pitched in, ordered their costumes and had fun. The women were dressed as flappers, he had the pinstriped suit complete with hat, and his first underling had on the white shirt, vest (accountant).

I've asked Charlie if I may borrow his tux. I'm thinking about wearing it and doling out candy with a white napkin draped over one arm and vampire fangs. We'll see what kind of mood I'm in tomorrow.

I boxed up my old costumes and sent them to my sister in Ohio. She sent me pix today of herself at work wearing the Hershey's Kiss outfit, complete with pointy silver hat & "HERSHEY'S" tassel streaming from the peak.

:toast: :toast: :toast:

My mother wasn't going to allow one of our female cats, who had kittens, back into the house because she had gotten filthy. I was told that I could put the kittens in a box with towels and a blanket, but the mother cat wasn't coming inside. She was a gentle, loving kitty until I tried to give her a bath. Bad mistake, I had claw marks on my back, arms. I keep reading about people trimming their cats claws...uh no, not for me either.

17. Hey spiderpig!!
Hoping that all is well. :hi:  I miss Nosy this time of year as he loved Halloween. He was solid black in his younger years and he loved to jump out of the monkey grass and scare people, or jump up on the porch rail to achieve the same. He was a hoot!

We'll try to have fun, but nothing elaborate going on here. We're getting bad about not decorating much the last few years. :hi:  :toast:

Also, I figured I could buy four bottles of decent wine for what I spent on candy. (Still unemployed & looking...)

I miss Nosy too. Darth Kitty is all-black, and the vet told us a lot of people still don't want to adopt a black cat.:(

Atlas Shrugged is a novel by Ayn Rand, first published in 1957 in the United States. This was Rand's fourth, longest and last novel, and she considered it her magnum opus in the realm of fiction writing.<1> As indicated by its working title The Strike, the book explores a dystopian United States where leading innovators, ranging from industrialists to artists, refuse to be exploited by society. The protagonist, Dagny Taggart, sees society collapse around her as the government increasingly asserts control over all industry, while society's most productive citizens, led by the mysterious John Galt, progressively disappear. Galt describes the strike as "stopping the motor of the world" by withdrawing the "minds" that drive society's growth and productivity; with their strike these creative minds hope to demonstrate that the economy and society would collapse without the profit motive and the efforts of the rational and productive.

The novel's title is a reference to the mythical Titan, Atlas, who in the novel is said to hold the weight of the heavens on his shoulders.<2> The character of Francisco d'Anconia at one point is asked what sort of advice someone would give to Atlas, and Francisco says he'd tell Atlas "to shrug" (with Atlas being a metaphor for the champions of industry who keep the world in place). The novel includes elements of mystery and science fiction,<3> and it contains Rand's most extensive statement of Objectivism in any of her works of fiction, a lengthy monologue delivered by the strike's leader, John Galt.<4>

about understanding this sticker. Lord knows that I suffer through enough of Thom Hartmann's interviews with the objectivism, Randian people on his show...I'm just not getting this sticker.

47. Is it a reference to corporations dumping on their industrial serfs and bringing down their
socio-economic world? Our whole infrastructure is collapsing due to the business giants sloughing off the weight of the majority that they've exploited for generations.
