4. I listened to Shuster
He said he's still amazed that Fitzgerald didn't charge him with perjury, because he's all over it. The problem he thought was that Scooter would have had to become a witness for the prosecution.

11. tecbnically he wasn't pardoned. Sentence commuted. But that meant Fitz had nothing to bargain with
or threaten with.

Following Libby's conviction, President George W. Bush commuted Libby's 30-month prison sentence but rejected Cheney's vehement appeals to pardon Libby.

5. Not in this case
Edited on Fri Oct-30-09 05:40 PM by malaise
You know when I saw Holder with Obama at that 4.00am ceremony for the dead military men, I suspected it was about more than the DEA men who were killed in the helicopter crash.

change headline
Joe Wilson has a great case now. The Dick lied and everyone knows he lied.

10. Well heck, we've known he lied for years-
Edited on Fri Oct-30-09 05:43 PM by BeHereNow
We also have watched numerous outrageous crimes go
unpunished by those in the power elite circle.

Given that this particular clown is in fact at the top
of those circles, what makes you think he will face justice?
What has changed in the tide of corruption?

18. In jail along with countless other neo con corporatists and bankers.
Problem is, I don't know if we have enough prisons to hold them all.
Guess we could outsource their asses to some "black sites."
Now that's rendition I could support.

28. The Wilsons' suit was dismissed. SCOTUS refused to hear appeal.
Edited on Sat Oct-31-09 06:43 PM by Garbo 2004
So currently there is no civil suit.

"UPDATE ON THE WILSONS’ LAWSUIT

June 22, 2009:

Today the U.S. Supreme Court issued an order denying any further review and bringing to a close Valerie and Joseph Wilson’s civil lawsuit based on the unconstitutional actions of top Bush administration officials..." http://www.wilsonsupport.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=18&Itemid=31

As far as I can tell the release of Cheney's interview with the Feds changes nothing in terms of criminal or civil actions. The Feds already had/have the transcript so that's not news to them. As for civil remedies, the Wilsons' civil suit was dismissed by the courts. When the SCOTUS refused to hear their appeal of lower courts' rulings, that ended the case. To file another suit the Wilsons would have to base it on a different cause (causes) of action other those that were shot down by the courts in the first case. That suit also would have to get passed issues that were impediments that still remain and are unchanged by the release of Cheney's interview.
