1. Primary every last one of these cowardly pieces of shit out at the first opportunity.
That would be next year, for all of them in the House.

10. Just a reminder (from the DU rules)
Democratic Underground is an online community for Democrats and other progressives. Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office.

Corporate fellatio (the insurance industry or otherwise) is NOT a progressive ideal.

4. I suggest a Party Decimation.
One out of every ten Congresspeople shall be killed.

The remainder shall be given rations of barley and made to sleep outside the Capitol building.

(This post is entirely in jest, obviously.)

8. It depends if you want Republican rule for 50 years or not
Unfortunately a bluedog is better than a Republican if that is the only choice. Most of the bluedog districts wouldn't elect a liberal in a primary and if they did, they would lose. I'm afraid we are stuck with them. I think what we need is some arm-twisting or perhaps waterboard them. :)

12. At least we would know where we stand
I'd rather have 50 actual Democrats than 60 "Democrats" with 10 that never vote like it.

14. It is ridiculous that we have to buckle, bend and give up
ideals to members of our own party!

If True Liberals were in charge of the party, they would whip the blue mutts into line. If they like their cushy jobs, they better get in line.

The reality is, the Democratic Leadership is more interested in keeping their power than promoting liberal agendas. This was their chance to prove us wrong. They are blowing it.

18. "Never" vote like it, meaning "not ever". Not likely and not accurate.
The percent of the time Senators voted with their party (notice even Joe Lieberman):
http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/110/senate/party-voters/

Also notice that the Senators with the worst percentage of supporting their party are, or were, Republicans, even Norm Coleman.

that claims Diane Feinstein is a better Democrat than Ted Kennedy.

22. The percentage of voting with the Party does NOT equate with being greater.
It's a number and has nothing to do with greatness.

23. These rankings are BULLSHIT.
Example: They claim that voting FOR the piece of shit "Kyl Lieberman Bomb the fuck out of Iran" ammendment was a "Democratic" position. Kennedy voted correctly on that neocon horseshit, which was to OPPOSE it.

Neocon warmongering is NOT a Democratic position.

Who the Hell writes this shit? The DLC?

17. Get rid of ALL the US senators from both parties and start over
Case in point: Their continued stalling of extended unemployment benefits.

21. we need term-limits for Congress and state offices..
Primaries are great for choosing Presidential or Gubernatorial candidates, but they are not effective for purging the party of corrupt office holders who have been in power too long.

I believe we need to limit executive officeholders and Senators to a single six-year term, House members and officeholders in state legislatures to three two-year terms.

IMO this would purge both parties of the vengeful, self-righteous, and fascist incentives that currently draw candidates into the public arena.
