Harry Reid, bring in a labeled cot for each Senator threatening to filibuster
Especially the ones who make open threats in the media (*cough* Lieberman). Make sure it is in view of CSPAN cameras. Announce, "I hear you guys are going to need these." As they threated to obstruct, 123 Americans die each day.

But it is now clear that the real obstacle to a public option isn’t people like Boehner who are simply misinformed. It’s a Republican, an Independent, and some of my Democratic colleagues in the Senate who say they have real reservations about a public option. The Independent, Senator Joe Lieberman, went so far as to say that he would support a Republican filibuster of the bill.

Send a message to these stragglers that it’s time to end the obstruction and deliver on the public option. It’s what the majority of Americans want. It’s what the President wants. And it’s what most Democrats in Congress want.

End the "Silent Filibuster" Make them actually do it!!!!

1. Never again will senators break out the cots.
They are much too precious, pampered, and self-indulgent to do that these days. I wish that horse's ass Chris Matthews would can his drivel about cots and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington--those days are past, never to return.

2. That's not a popular or accepted sentiment here even if it is realty.
Here the fantasy of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is preferred.
