I just know the scuttlebutt is there was no love loss between GWB and his Lieutenant Governor. The details are hazy but before Dubya left Texas for the White House, he was hot to execute some prisoner on death row. One of the very first things Perry did as the new Governor was stay that execution. I think the inmate ended up being executed after the stay but at the time, that stay was a slap in the face to GWB from Goodhair.
