If you are going to criminalize people who have not bought into the corporate health insurance
industry for their health care needs, at the very least you can do is to provide an option to the public that does not reward the insurance industry on the backs of the American tax payer and that provides honest to god affordable health care to the public.

At the very least. Anything less is shameful.

And even with the above situation being granted, there will still be millions of people who will be criminalized and victimezed by this process because they are just to damn dysfunctional or uneducated to get with the program.

But regardless, at the very least, provide true health care reform.

1. The "Public Option" has degenerated into a dumping ground...
for those too sick or too poor for "real" health insurance.

But it is called "Public Option", so I guess it will count as a win for Democrats.

Yea Team!

2. neither obama or the congress are capable of creating true health care reform
they are too dependent on the largesse of the corporations who put them in office. They have great health care paid for by taxpayers, so there is no personal sense of urgency. what we will get is corporate welfare passing itself off as health care reform.

3. They'll have to put me in jail before I buy a defective product that does nothing but
line the pockets of their executives.

4. so this is what I'm seeing...
1) a public option that will be run by a private insurance corp.

2) only those who don't have health-care are eligible for the public option

3) states can opt out of the public option after one year, but still have to provide health care for those in their state that don't have health care.
a) states will either not opt out due to economic reasons (texas- largest uninsured pop of any state).
b) states will opt out and provide a pile of shit health care plan to their uninsured as spite (think south carolina)

4) health insurance corps have no direct competition so therefore, nothing has changed and they can continue to charge whatever they want.

5) part D hasn't been completely dealt with.

6) people with "pre-existing conditions" will now not be denied coverage but they will now be folded into the non-competitive health-care industry coverage. They will see a break in prices right off the bat, but like the rest of us, as the price projections studies have shown, will soon be paying what they were paying before. Only difference, everyone will be paying sky high prices.

Unless there is a public option for everyone, this bill does nothing.
