1. I have always favored a checkoff box for income tax returns
It would have no effect on how much you pay, but you could direct your money to whatever program or government agency you wish.

5. I was against the opt out as well until someone showed me how it would work.
do you know how it would work?

This is it in a nut shell...

They can't opt out unless they come up with an alternate plan to cover their uninsured.

And since I live in Texas, which has the largest base of uninsured people, I would love to see the texas repukes cough up an alternative to cover the uninsured.

And on top of that, the opt out doesn't kick in for 1 year.
