Listening to Montel on AAR and n+Nancy Pelosie's daughter
saw arguing aginst term limits. she said two things. Limiting to 1 or 2 terms allows officials to do whatever they want because they're gone anyway, and it's up to the people. If they don't feel their Rep or Sen is doing a good job, they vote them out!

That doesn't work!

I lived in SC when Strohm Thermond was in office. This was back in the late 800's early 90's when he was in his 90's and missing ha;d the time. I asked around the office "why do people keep electing him? He's too damn old to do a good job!" Their unanamous response was "he did a lot for us and we owe him to keep reelecting him until hi dies or decides he wants to retire!
"

As much as I like Byrd, I feel he's in that same spot!

Why don't the voters want capable people in office?

1. Yeah, Like having Boxer, Fienstien and Lofgren in office for generations
Has made any difference. These are my reps, supposedly the good guys, well, except for Di-Fi-Lieberman. The point is that they have been in office forever and have done nothing to change the status quo. At this point, I see them as collaborators.

2. Geez, I didn't know Strom Thurmond was over 1200 years old when he died.
He was around in the 800s A.D.? That means he was around when King Charlemagne was alive, and he was around when the Vikings were attacking parts of northern Europe. OK, I kid, I kid.

:silly:
