What I have learned about the flu vaccines from various blogs and news sites:

1. We're all going to be forced to get both shots.

2. This is to ensure huuuuge profits for Big Pharma and is despite the facts that:

3. The flu shots don't work

4. No one ever died from the flu that wasn't already going to die from something else

5. the flu shots cause all sorts of weird diseases and conditions

6. Not least of which, if you get a flu shot you'll come down with the flu

7. but we're all in trouble now because there isn't enough vaccine to go around

8. so we're all going to get the flu and die.

I think I've covered everything.

On edit: I forgot, no one who washes there hands has ever come down with the flu!

4. I have a sneaking suspicion that in a few years all the healthy
people will be encouraged to get flu shots because this is the best way to protect those in high risk groups. I know that lots of time elderly people get the shot but for whatever reason their immune systems aren't triggered, so they shot is useless. On the other hand, if enough of the people around the elderly get the shots, they are protected, so they can't be carriers so the elderly person isn't exposed.

that's why you have to get the shot...

If you happen to be lucky enough to survive both the flu and the shot you will be permanently monitored by the new Socialistic Goverment being put into place by the usurper Kenyan Barack Hussein Obama. Somebody has to know where to find people in order to bring them in front of the Death Panels in the new FEMA camps. Do you have any idea how hard that would be without the tracking chips, sheesh.

The flu shot contains a tracking device and, I have on good authority, a small mind control chip that will make you break into song spontaneously to support your new African American overlord.

3. We're all going to die
of something someday. I suppose the Woody Allen quote, "The universe is expanding. Why bother?" might apply in this case.

I've had lots of flu shots and have not gotten sick from the shot or from the flu, either. Cause and effect? Maybe, maybe not. But I'm batting a 1000 so I'll keep doing what seems to work (even if it really isn't.)

10. The irony is, those of us who want the shots are having a helluva time getting them.
This panic about being "forced" to get one... :eyes: Yeah, get in line.

13. I haven't been able to get one yet. I don't know why, but my doctor's office
won't be doing them at all. Meanwhile the health dept. says they 're only giving them to people who aren't insured.

24. Apparently there's way less supply than they expected.
Still, they've had all year to get on this. I really don't understand why, in this day & age, we should go through this. Probably the vaccine companies don't want to make too much & lose money- an argument for some sort of gov't involvement, if I've ever heard one.

12. The "morons" are the ones who deny that there is any possibility that
vaccines might be related in some susceptible fraction of the population to the onset of autism syndrome. The Hannah Poling case has already been accepted by the vaccine court as an instance where a child with a mitochondrial disorder developed autism after having a vaccine. There will be others.

11. Re #6, if you have the inhaled flu vaccine, that vaccine uses live virus,
so you MAY experience a milder version of the flu. That's why they didn't give it to any health care providers.

Who can use the Nasal Spray Flu Vaccine?

Vaccination with the nasal-spray flu vaccine is an option for healthy people 2-49 years of age who are not pregnant, even healthy persons who live with or care for those in a high risk group. The one exception is healthy persons who care for persons with severely weakened immune systems who require a protected environment; these healthy persons should get the inactivated flu vaccine.

19. You should have read it first, your own source proves you wrong:
You skipped right over this part:

To better reach those in priority groups first, CDHD is also coordinating and supporting the following activities:

Joint efforts between CDHD and school nurses to vaccinate K--12 public school students in Ada County, McCall, and Glenns Ferry.

Distribute vaccine to some obstetrician clinics for pregnant females (call your provider to get more info).

Distribute vaccine to homebound individuals through their home health agencies (call your agency for more information).

Administer vaccine to first responders and healthcare workers.

Distribute vaccine to jails, prisons or other detention centers for vaccination of high priority groups.

Once good coverage of priority groups has been achieved (this is expected to take 4--5 weeks) CDHD will encourage all citizens to protect themselves, coworkers and the community by getting the H1N1 flu vaccination. CDHD will make the vaccine more broadly available in the community through health providers and through special flu clinics at the three district offices in Boise, McCall and Mountain Home.

20. According to the CDC: LAIV is a very good option for most health care providers who are healthy,
Influenza A (H1N1) Monovalent Nasal-Spray Flu Vaccine Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine

What is the nasal spray flu vaccine?

What is the nasal spray flu vaccine? There are two types of flu vaccine: the flu shot and the nasal spray vaccine. Both types of vaccine are being made against 2009 H1N1. The nasal spray flu vaccine (sometimes called LAIV for Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine) is a vaccine made with live, weakened viruses that cannot grow at normal body temperature and is given via a nasal sprayer. This vaccine was approved for seasonal influenza viruses in 2003 and tens of millions of doses of the vaccine have been given in the United States.

How is the 2009 H1N1 nasal spray vaccine different from the seasonal nasal spray vaccine?

The 2009 H1N1 nasal spray vaccine is being made in the same way as the seasonal nasal spray vaccine, but instead of containing three weakened live flu viruses, it only contains weakened 2009 H1N1 virus. (That is why it’ is called a “monovalent” vaccine.). The recommendations for who can get the 2009 H1N1 nasal spray vaccine are the same as for seasonal nasal spray vaccine. LAIV is recommended for use in healthy* people 2 years to 49 years of age who are not pregnant.

Who can be vaccinated with the 2009 H1N1 nasal-spray flu vaccine (LAIV)?

The 2009 H1N1 nasal spray vaccine is recommended for use in healthy people 2 years Through 49 years of age who are not pregnant. See below

Can health care providers get the live attenuated influenza vaccine?

Yes. LAIV is a very good option for most health care providers who are healthy, younger than 50 years old, and not pregnant. However, health care providers should not get LAIV if they are providing medical care for patients who require special environments in the hospital because they are profoundly immunocompromised (e.g., those who work in bone marrow transplant units). Although no immunocompromised patient has been shown to be harmed by use of LAIV among health care workers, the recommendation against the use of LAIV in health care workers with this type of patient contact is intended as an extra precaution for fragile immunocompromised patients. Health care workers with this type of patient contact can get LAIV, but if they do, they should wait 7 days after being vaccinated before returning to duties that include care of severely immunocompromised patients in special environments.

18. I'm a canary in a coal mine
I'm a nurse in a huge inner city hospital. No H1N1 vaccines for us, their shipment has "not arrived" yet.
Cough, sneeze, sniffle....can't call in sick..only 4 days allowed per year or you get "counseled" once, if "counseled" twice and you're history.
Tip# 1: Stay out of the hospital. At least until the staff is vaccinated.
