Mary Landrieu is signaling that she’s open to the public option.
* In a key sign of movement, centrist Senator Mary Landrieu is signaling that she’s open to the public option. In a statement sent over by her office, she said:

“I am encouraged that the conversations taking place over the past week among Senators who back different versions of a public option could potentially lead to a compromise. I believe this compromise should happen sooner, rather than later.”

She didn’t elaborate on which compromise she could support. Still, it’s significant.

7. Maybe the tough "Opt-Out" talk has her and other blue dogs running scared.
Reaction would be FIERCE from out of work
constituents in their home states.

Out of work people have time to rally
and start shit.

3. She better be
Even tho the so called "liberal" press gives more air time to the whinning and ranting of the minority number of republicans, most Americans want health care reform along with the public option. I think a lot of the democrats who don't vote for this are really gonna be suprised the DAY AFTER RE-ELECTION DAY.

4. Can't stand the woman. She voted for the Patriot Act II just because she
had other things she felt were more important, and wanted to get on with it.

I guess things like giving away our rights and liberties don't matter to her. Louisiana would do well to get rid of her.

10. She is hoping to help shape the discussion to make the public option run by the insurance
companies and subsidized by the govament. Do not trust corp-Landreau.

8. This is a trick. Now that the corporatists think there is a chance for a public option, they want
in on the decision how the option is defined. Better believe the public option corporatist-mary wants will not involve a government run program. It will be an option to buy from insurance companies probably with the government subsidizing it.
