Swine Flu Prevention Tips (not intended as replacement for flu shot but rather as an addendum)
This was given to me by a voice coach, not a doctor. It mostly seems like common-sense advice. But, take it or leave it. Strictly up to you! I'm just sharing.

2. I wish I had taken tamiflu.
I have it here in the house. My hubby took it and his flu symptoms went away within 36 hours except some malaise and achyness. I have been ill for over a month from this flu and it's after effects because I was stubborn and did not take the tamiflu.
Meh.

5. Can you tell me what your symptoms have been? Lasting over a month..
I'm wondering..have they been mild to middle aggravating achy, headache...many I know have had a low grade flu that drags on. generally healthy people.

6. I recovered
from the flu itself which was pretty nasty and then developed asthmatic bronchitis, still have muscle aches, fatigue, and malaise and my vocal cords are still inflamed and I only have a squeaky voice. I have not been able to speak with my hard of hearing mother for a month as she cannot understand what I am saying as the louder I try to talk the squeakier I get. I will start to feel a bit better then feel horrible again.

8. Last month I had very sore throat. Out of the blue I thought vinegar might work
Edited on Thu Oct-22-09 04:01 PM by snagglepuss
because I was desperate. I had used salt water it didnt help whereas gargling with white vinegar and cold water worked wonders.

Later I googled vinegar gargle and found out its an age old remedy and most recommend white vinegar because it is stronger. White vinegar an cool water worked for me and didnt hurt one iota. Very soothing. Very fast relief.
