CO lawmakers vote down single-payer resolutuion
)please note that this is a democratic-majority lege. so whichever idiot in congress yammered about "let the states decide" F*** you!" an accident of geography, or living in a state with really stupid lawmakers, should NOT determine a person's ability to get decent health care

DENVER—Colorado lawmakers have rejected a resolution urging Congress to back a single payer health care plan.
The resolution voted down Monday by the Legislature's Health Care Task Force said the current system is "fragmented, costly, bureaucratic and administratively wasteful."

Opponents said a single-payer plan would be too costly and force health care rationing.

Supporters said they were hoping to persuade President Barack Obama and Congress to allow Colorado to provide a single-payer system and protect hundreds of thousands of residents who are without health insurance.

1. 26 states have Dem controlled legislatures
Many with Dem Governors as well. Lots of them should have passed single payer by now.

2. This one, oddly enough, is Democratic controlled majority on both sides
and we have a Dem governor...

I think they're scared because it'll require money that the state doesn't really have - we've had to make some serious and draconian cuts this year....

4. leaves us screwed. I won't hold my breath for anything useful coming out of congress--regardless of
what sherrod brown and others are saying. obama dropped single-payer, isn't pushing for public option--and the insurance cartel is pouring millions into making sure they stay the bloodsuckers they are.
