Don't cha love R Crumb's latest book...
... of Genesis!

He didn't know what he was going to do with God, until he had a brief dream and decided to go with the white beard after thinking he might draw God as a black woman.

I'll bet it draws a lot of controversy, but I think it's great!

4. You know, this would be the ONLY way to get through that book...
I mean, if you have to draw a true picture from mythology, or Lot and his daughters, As they say... there it is!

5. I've read Genesis; The ick factor is quite high
I'm sure Mr Crumb had no problem putting images to the words...

7. Fascinating. I just heard about this earlier this afternoon, on NPR on my home from work.
The woman who did the review -- sorry, can't remember her name -- made a very compelling case in favor of it.

Thanks for posting this.

8. Yeah, I thought so, too...
When I heard Malloy mention it, I looked it up.

I think there's a very good reason for him to illustrate it just as he sees it!

9. It's a terrific book, and I've already brought it in to my Sunday school class!
Of course, they're 4th graders, so I have to kind of have a ceiling of the PG-13, and so far, have only used excerpts --

....but they love seeing stories from this rather overwhelming/deranged/enthralling/uplifting, etc., myth cycle actually illustrated...
